  • well evening all and hi to all new people. hope everyone and little ones feeling better. I am not sure how i am going to get on this week - we have had a horrible weekend here. My mum went missing on friday night and we didn't hear from her until sat lunchtime. Then we didn't hear until today but thankfully she has come home this evening. It was really scary - its funny not sure really why am sharing this - strange isn't it telling people never met!!

so - that means house not looking great but not terrible - i really need to do some ironing tonight but feel too drained. DH goes back to work tomorrow but no children in school til tuesday so her can wear his jeans and dd1 at preschool wed, so i can muddle through a bit tomorrow with clothes!!

well, i will see you all tomorrow, night
  • oh sorry lil_me - i love the new thread - thanks for all your hard work

    Hi everyone,

Thanks lil'me for doing this for us. I'm gonna try for a level three tomorrow, I've neglected our kitchen for a little while - all the icky jobs!! so will get stuck into those tomorrow. I haven't got any oven cleaner - does stardrops work? Our microwave looks like some kind of creature has exploded in it lol saw a tip on kim and aggie once that works something about sticking some washing up liquid in a bowl of water with some lemon juice or something like that and letting the steam in the microwave loosen the hard bits - does anyone know the proper "recipe" for this - I can't remember - may be stardrops will come up trumps again!!

Monday - Kitchen and Dining Room
    Level One
    Clean floors
    Level Two
    Clear and wipe kitchen surfaces
Wipe window sill, clean any marks off window if required
Dust any extra furniture in dining room, checking for cobwebs on way round
Wipe dining table (clean table cloth if necessary)
Sort fridge bringing what needs using soon to the front
    Level Three
    Clean microwave
Clean cupboard door fronts and the front of appliances
Wash the washer drawer out if it's gunky
Clean oven if you didn’t do it last week
    Declutter mission task
27 fling boogie, grab a bag and clear that clutter!

    Dailies
give toilet and bathroom a quick clean
    go food shopping
    send e-bay monies off
    phone BT
wipe over surfaces in living room and vac
    vac hallway

uniform for school on Tuesday already done.
get DD's school bag ready for Tuesday
One load of washing ( at the moment ), get it dry and put away

I want to get a tablecloth while I'm out too for our dining room table. I want one of those PVC type ones. Will have a look in dunhelm, I think you cut how much you want off a roll. If anyone knows anywhere cheaper, can you let me know? please!! Has to be PVC coated type has LO has learning difficulties and splatters the table at every meal time - bless her!!!

I think thats enough for now. Hubby is at home so he can do some of it with me.

Take Care all, hope everyone has a good week!!!

Right I need another glass of wine, just got a message from the bf in Afghanistan, as im in the TA i know what hes up against but it still just upset/shocked me to hear that hes been under contact out there. Hohumm least hes ok!!

Know how you feel aimee BIL in marines he's going out in a couple of months.

Like the new look Lil-me. Will aim for level 3 probably do level 2.

Welcome to the newbies. I've been doing this for a couple of months now and can't believe the difference it's already made and neither can everyone who visits because they can now. I used to have to clean up for a couple of hours before hand and now i don't mind drop-ins. It's such a relief.

Catch up with everyone tomorrow and let's hope it's a better week for us all.

Quietly sneaking back in, I took easter off and then found that I couldn't be bothered last week and ended up doing nothing so I have three weeks of mess and feel determined to get back on track this week.

Hope all well, I haven't even been signing in to see what has been going on so hope all well.

Lil_me like the new format, especially for me dipping my toe back in I will aim for level two tomorrow, so the list looks like -

cheers lil-me - love the new look. It could work out better for us working girls and boys. I am going to try for level two in the week and level three at the weekend - not this week though cos I'm on my hols to butlins. Normally I work through the list after dinner until about 9.30 and then stop. The following day's list gets copy and pasted on top and so it goes on. By the time the weekend comes I am working backwards through the days - well that didn't make sense even to me but it means that I am still doing the kitchen by sunday. It's true what everyone says though - the longer you do it the quicker it is to get through the next time. I suppose that at some point it will just become maintenance but that day is far in the future for me I'm afraid
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008

Oooh, I do like the new look list! Thanks Lil_me, that must've taken some time. I think the levels idea is fab.
Welcome Tartanmum and Newmrslockwood preparing for battle with chocolate and straight in at level three, I like both those approaches!

I had a lovely time at Bro and SIL's and for once didn't come away with 'house envy' as I usually do. I'm loads happier with the state of my house and shabby as some of it is, it's tidy shabby and clean shabby and I love all my things, so bleh! Got that off my chest. Saying that, they want to come and stay while I'm away in a few weekends time.. I'll be Flying my socks off that week (and hiding all manner of things, ahem).

Only the kitchen for me tomorrow (no dining room shabby or otherwise!) and I might squeeze in a larder tidy/ inventory if I get done sharpish. Last week of April grocery palarver and it's not looking good.. Glad I'm not getting a fab fridge tomorrow, I'd have nowt to put in it!

Have a good evening and happy flying tomorrow. I'll catch up after 6pm.

Lovely new new list lil_me, I think it's a great idea having levels.

Scaredycat, glad to hear that your mum's ok, that must have been really scary for you. Hope that the situation is sorted out soon and that your mind now rests a little more easily.

aimee, my dad was a soldier for 22 years and only came out of the forces two years ago. He's now decided that after all those years putting himself in danger for our country, he's going to join the australian army! I hope you can find some peace tonight and hear from him soon. xxx

I'll be heading for a level three tomorrow. Owen's last day on holiday, so we'll do something exciting too. Don't know what yet, but I do know it has to be free and nearby - I don't want to be too far from the house this close to D-Day.
