I think in terms of friendship guys don't look on something like a Christmas cards as meaning anything at all. In my experience guys would be more inclined to plan a night out and have a laugh as a way of showing appreciation for their mates.0 -
So send each other an email for free! Why does it have to be a physical item? If someone is hurt because I don't send them a christmas card then I'm not sure I want to have that person as a friend to be honest!! Too needy for my liking! I don't deal with needy people too well so tend to avoid them! Its the main reason I rarely use Facebook.
I just don't get it... but then I don't get a lot of things women do!!I send a lot of emails at Christmas, usually enclosing a general newsletter, a few pictures and then a couple of personal paragraphs. I'll also add anything that I think might interest the recipent particularly, like a link to a cat cartoon for my cousin or a pattern for something or a joke site etc. It does take a bit of time to write thirty or forty emails even if 2/3rds of the content is cut and pasted so |I'm putting in the effort, just not spending money on cards and stamps. Doesn't that count?
Emails count! I'll amend the OP to include e-cards/emails.:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Because it's a waste of my time & the inevitable thing is that we'll forget someone who'll get all manner of p***y over it for something that means absolutely nothing. After all, most of the cards will go to recycling in the new year meaning you've done all that so someone has a little special feeling for a second or two....

I only write cards for immediate family, even friends don't get a card, I'll prob just buy them a beer instead!0

I don;t recycle cards!! I cut them up and DD makes cards out of them the next year. So they're loved twice over.:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

For me, cards are a physical demonstration of the fact that I've thought about someone, and loved them enough to send them a message on a card.
A little needy imho (sorry if I'm being abrupt). Stamps are now ludicrously expensive, to send just 20 Christmas cards costs £10 in postage for 2nd class!
I only give cards to family and VERY close friends, and I don't ever get offended if someone doesn't send me one.

I don't do Christmas cards because I think they're an overpriced waste of money. You open them, you put them on a mantlepiece or stick them on a wall, pay no more attention to them and then they go in the bin. I'd rather put the money towards a couple of drinks on Christmas Day. At least they'll be appreciated more!

Its not just men!! apart from my mom, stepdad and nan, I don’t send Christmas cards!
My mom gets pretty narky if she doesn’t get a card with her presents (I don’t know why)
I stopped sending them to the rest of my family and friends a few years ago. I don’t have the time or the patience to sit for hours writing card after card then remembering to post them or take them with me when I visit people.0 -

Men can barely buy a xmas present never mind sit and write out a xmas card! I think it's a bit ott if you feel offended by not receiving a xmas card - surely that doesn't determine what kind of friendship you have with someone, I hope not!0
