Should Cameron Bottle The TV Election Debates 2015? Clegg & Miliband Seem Up For It

The Scottish parliament debates are actually fun to watch when Salmond's on.With Alex Salmond he is a great debator that comes over as a more natural person compared to David Cameron who, without the help of his spin doctors, or whoever writes his notes breaks down under debate and can become totally lost to give an answer that does not contain to some degree of arrogance.
MP Dorries summed up Cameron and Osborne as having........ "no passion to want to understand the lives of others"
I don't rate Cameron at all. He can't think on his feet, and when he does you wish he hadn't.
He's too young and inexperienced to have the gravitas for the job.
He has the handicap of being too guileless to win an election after 13 years of Labour rule, in a system set up to deliver majority governments, with most mass media rooting for him.
On the other hand, Salmond had most of the media lined up against him and still won a landslide in a system set up to prevent exactly that thing happening.
As the old saying goes it'd be like daisies to a bull.:D

If we are going to attribute any wisdom to the words of Nadine Dorries then I'm afraid we really are scraping the barrel.No-one would remember the Good Samaritan if he'd only had good intentions. He had money as well.
The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money.

I appretiate what you are saying George but her words for me, summed up the problems that the Government Leaders are having, they are not in touch with the man/woman in the street and really never have been, if they would only look at our side of the coin and speak in our language instead of coming out with smug remarks that are not relevant to the situation that many families are finding themselves in at the moment. Not wishing to anger you George..Rant over.;)0 -

It's pity that so many people in deciding how to vote are swayed by impression and image, rather than what parties actually do when they get into office, and how they leave things when they go out. The Clegg 'bounce' after the first 2010 TV debate shows how depressingly powerful this effect is, and how shallow so many people are.No-one would remember the Good Samaritan if he'd only had good intentions. He had money as well.

I just cannot believe that the Conservative Party would choose such a character as Camerom to drive and be in charge of the lead horses, it is so unreal of them, its like putting a bull in charge of a china shop.
There must be past and present politicians wondering how to get back off the unclassified roads that they are taking us and at least get us onto a B road.
I think that they have lost their way and it is a shame because when you look back on their previous records they were almost invinciple. Now its like David and Goliath in reverse.0 -
Talking of public appearances, it appears the only day clear enough for dave's europe speech is wednesday - but thats usually pmqs...
will be interesting to watch his delivery/performance....0 -

Perhaps that is the reason that the Conservatives didn't get the landslide win they were expecting."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

Haven't really followed this thread, but I'd love to see Ed's answer on how he would sort out the deficit, given that he's come out against every single deficit reduction measure brought forward by the government.
He cannot be credible without a coherent answer to this.0 -

I think they should work together to sort the problems out but isn't the point of being in opposition to oppose?
He may have some good ideas but don't the "rules of politics" mean that he would be daft to show his hand?
Didn't labour have an historic plan to halve the deficit over the then next parliament?"If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

I think that the 'bottom line' is why do certain posters keep criticising Labour for not having an answer to the economic problem when they do not have one themselves.
If Labour revealed their plans the Conservatives would use their ideas under a different title and claim that it was all their idea.
It just like blaming someone else for something that is your responsability to fix. What must be remembered Labour are not in Government.0
