I purchased 2 Disney DVDs on 10 Dec thinking I was buying from a UK website (smartbuyshop.co.uk) Long story short the DVDs arrived 2 weeks later with a postmark from Thailand. DVDs are decent quality fakes as the packaging is well printed without spelling mistakes but they can be identified as counterfeit copies by:
1.Movie is recorded onto DVDr. Disc has purple coloured surface and if you look carefully you can see the end of the recording at the outside edge, where the colour changes slightly. Original discs are 'pressed' not burned, so there should be no change in colour on the disc surface. 2. DVDs are Region 1 NTSC and state 'For sale in USA only. 3. No Barcoding or Serial number around inside edge discs on the back of the disc.
To get your money back quickly through PayPal simply log into your account and 'report a problem' with paypal resolution centre and state the item is counterfeit. PayPal within a day or two will email you and request for you to return the items to sender using tracked postage at your own expense. When this email is received call PayPal on 0870 7307191 and advise that you are responding to PayPal email request to post the item and that you can't do this as it is illegal to post counterfeit goods. Cust service will tell you 'Paypal would not want you to, or expect you to post any counterfeit items' (response I received). I was then advisded to get money back I would need to get DVDs validated as fakes by a 'professional' to which I politely responded that I could see from other paypal users that PayPal was aware of the issue with woodymart being fraudulent before I purchased my DVDs and that they are clearly counterfeit and explained points 1,2 and 3 above and please could I have my money refunded. I was then advised without any delay or questions that as a 'once off act of goodwill on this occasion PayPal will refund you in full and the case will be closed'. I received confirmation from PayPal by email less than 2 hours later and monies are back in my account. Whole process took less than 5 minutes on the phone. Thanks for the great service PayPal Customer service.
Or bend the truth and advise PayPal the items weren't received.
Good luck!0 -
please see my previous post above as ukshoppingstore.co.uk also appears to be woodymart as exact same cust service and refund policy blurb as smartbuyshop.co.uk (the scam website I used). Don't risk it and use a trusted UK DVD retailer!0
