That's what I heard at the time. I don't think it was going on on the DFW board though - we used to be referred to as the 'huggers'!

Haha, we kind of are huggers!! I'm not ashamed of being too nice, kill 'em with kindness right?

I found Roly! :j Worryingly, if you put "roly eyed emoticon mse" into google images the first 3 images are of Baby Ryder. Also, google search is just forum after forum of people calling Roly names. How dare they, he's the best! rolleyes.gifrolleyes.gif

Glad you all enjoyed reliving my ID saga. What was embarrasing was the fact he tried to tactfully ask for ID and I was completely oblivious. I normally have my ID ready if I'm buying booze (like last Friday, rare occasion!) or something where I'm expecting it, I'm overly aware I barely look 19 let alone challenge 25 or whatever it is. rolleyes.gif
    (oh muffin's I've missed him!)

Gave the house a good clean, and have chosen devil's sausages for tea - with rice and salad. Mainly to use my stock pot :D

:rotfl: at you being ID'd Cinny. Unfortunately that never happens to me :(

I wondered about the rolly eye emoticon too. Had to laugh shrimpy at being called "huggers" I do find the DFW board a lot nicer than the other boards. People are quite quick to judge on other boards I've found when I've gone looking for advice. I stay here where it's nice :)

    Morning!

The plans I had for this morning have been cancelled so I'm being a girl of leisure. Only less classy, more hobbity slippered and with 100% more husky hair.

I like the thought of us being huggers, it's true though. Most people come here scared and needing help, so why be mean? It won't help them at all. Rather be talked about for being nice than because I'm a grade A blitch!

Just about to get ready to take Ryder out for walk numero uno. It's nice and sunny today too, so I'm hoping we'll actually get some washing dried. Somehow, since Sunday, the laundry basket is full again. Fun!

    For today:

No spends, because I'm a skinflint now.

Saved £11.18 with rounding accounts down and making small payments towards the smallest loan.

Give: I'm kind of struggling with the giving part! I think I need to put some time into researching ways to give, I'm ruled out of giving blood for a few more months, I'm not really in a place where I can give well to charities with money, but I'm so busy I don't really have a day to give to fundraisers, rescue work etc.. hmm!

My hours have changed again too. Thursdays, from next week, will now be the "worst day" I'll be working 7:30 - 12:30/1 every week day, then 2 - 8:30pm on Thursday, 7:45 - 12:15 on Saturday plus cleaning. Then the afternoons with my Grandparents on a Friday. Brings me down to 36 hours a week, much better!

Cinny have you heard of random acts of kindness? That may help you 'give'. I've heard of people who leave books on trains etc with a note inside saying "hope you enjoy reading this as much as I did". Maybe something like that may be better for you as it's not actually giving money but it might make someone's day.

That's a lovely idea Star! I would be so touched to find something like that! It reminded me of something I do occasionally, which is leave supermarket vouchers I won't use myself next to the relevant products instore for others. Same principle, costs nothing but a little thought.

Ah shrimpy that's a lovely idea.

Once when we were on holiday I picked up a "free child with one paying adult" voucher for a theme park we were going to the following day. Having two kids I picked up two. When we got there we didn't have to pay for DS anyway as he was so young so I passed the extra one to the family behind us in the queue (who had 3 kids so would have cost them a fortune) cost us nothing and they were so grateful.

It's true - I've made that mistake before - the pets people are quite bad for it - so busy worrying about animal welfare that they forget to be nice to humans :undecided

That's also a fantastic idea! I've done the printing-off-an-extra-discount-vouvher thing and given it to others in the queue - gives you the warm and fuzzies good and proper.

Cinny you do such a lot for your grandparents, does that not count as giving?
