My understanding (and please don't quote me) is that as long as the car that was stolen was insured, then you should claim of that cars insurance. But if they get the guy who was driving, and he has his own car and is insured on that, they may also cover it.

Glad no one is hurt, but must be a nightmare for you.

Failing that (sorry to quote myself) but you may be able to go through the Motor Insurance Bureau, which has a fund set up to cover uninsured drivers, which this guy may be.

Ring your own insurers and get onto the Motor Legal dept (did you pay for motor legal cover on your policy?) and they will advise.

I would also say that it is worth checking with a doctor etc. to make sure that you are both OK, and remember that if you are hurt (or the little one) it may take till the morning to show itself.
  • Yes I know I'm way behind and technically today is the last day for putting the tree up without getting bad luck being 12 days before etc but OH has just been up in the loft to retrieve it - and came back down again empty handed claiming "Didn't we throw it out last year because we were going to get a new one in the sales?"

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!! Why did I not remember??? Now we're going to have to go on a tree hunt tomorrow and get shafted on the price no doubt. Wonder if I could just chuck some fairy lights on my rather large cheese plant? :rotfl:

    Hiya

The was no sticker on them just the half price on the shelf label showing £5.98. The beef packet was priced at £11.96 per kg. I paid and the went to cs just saying I was confused as the shelf label said half price and I assumed it would have come off at the checkout and it was only after that I realised it had not. Cs checked and came back with manager and approved with no problem. Even an apology :rotfl:

Did the one you got have the correct half price per kg on the packet?

Oh I am so stupid! I bought 2 of the Finest Rump which came to £50, but then I realised they didn't have the Half Price Sticker on, so went back and got the only Half Price one on the shelf which was silverside, and it came up as half price, and brought back the rump and got my money back. I never thought of checking the shelf price. I might go back tomorrow

    It's completely road worthy.

It looks like there is just one area of damage. It's not a scratch or a dent which I've had fixed before easily enough, this is a proper gouge out of the metal. I have no idea if that can be filled in or if the whole bumper needs to be replaced.....

I'll have a proper look in the daylight. There may be scratches/cracks/etc that i can't see in the dark

It could have been a whole lot worse. I saw him coming and at the last second I was able to kick my own car into reverse so that when he hit me we were both moving in the same direction

Well done for reverse. If it is a plastic bumber then it will probably be replaced as they don't repair brilliantly (though is possible) and will not have the same strength should the car have a bump in the future (worth thinking about), so a replacement is better. It is also worth a body repair centre having a look behind the bumper to ensure there is no structural damage which again could affect the car. Plastic bumpers do flex and can pop in and out again hiding any damage.

Oh and can I just ask, what are M&S fivers?

They are found near the tills in M&S. They are for £5 off a £35 spend on food drink and flowers between 19-24 December.

When I was growing up my dad never paid for a christmas tree. He went for a walk round the corner to the block of garages that we rented one from and pruned the Leylandii hedge. A bit of clever shaping ina bucket of sand and we had a tree that smelt real, was really green in colour, hardly dropped any needles and was free. Aparty from it obvioulsy not being a "real" christmas tree it did the job perfectly.

It may come down to that - what an interesting idea! :rotfl:

Well I've had a fun day

Most importantly everyone is unhurt but some idiot got drunk, stole a car, crashed into a taxi, reversed into my car (with me and 19 month old daughter on board) whilst attempting to drive away then did a runner whilst we all waited at the roadside for the police

I would have physically detained him (if not for fear of assault charges) or pursued him (if not for the fact my daughter was in the car)

I wonder how the insurance claim will go on this one considering the other car was reported stolen. Anyone any experience of that?

my thoughts are with you and your family, i hope they catch him:(
