  • Brilliant news Shrimpy! Don't worry about complaining - if that's what it takes to get things moving, then so be it. Really pleased you have a date.

No details for colleague to check out, it was really simple. And before she left to have a baby she worked at this place as some kind of senior admin manager a couple of grades higher than her current job so no excuses really!

I noticed in your sig the other day that you'd been losing weight Dinah, well done - are you finding it hard work, you never really mention it? Mine has gone by the wayside a bit but will get back on to it in the New Year. Thinking about a 2013 running challenge, a mile a day overall, so 365 miles by the end of the year :)

That is great news Shrimpy! I bet you can't wait to get it all over with.

Bad news about the house, I think things often crop up like that, but it's fab that you got it sorted so sensibly with the vendors. A friend from book club put an offer on a flat this time last year, but the owner died during conveyancing and then loads of his rellies put claims on the estate. They're still waiting for it all to get sorted out. Not sure I could have waited that long!

Tete, sorry to hear about your colleague messing up.

Birdie - I can't believe that about your OH!!! Hope he's okay and enjoying a bit of pre-Christmas time off :)

I hate you so much right now :p

Hey all, yes I am alive...just, the fog recently has been insane on the drive to and from the new job, loving it but don't have time to look at the thread during the day any more. Working with some great people and the staff actually give a crap about what they do so its nice.

Sorry I missed the Molotov party Poolie, got a bit distracted ;)

It's not that hard this time, because it's what I want. Before I wanted to loose weight, but I didn't have a good reason really, I just wanted to be happier with my body when I looked in a mirror, it's a lot easier to not eat too much when the drive is having a healthy sibling for Grace. I'm also not focussing on it too much, I've plateaued now for about 10 days, but I don't mind, I'll start loosing again and there is no rush as I don't want another one for a while. Before I felt like if I gained a pound or had a few bad days I might as well give up.

Wow, well done on losing so much weight Dinah! :T Not sure how you could get any smaller, but it's a fantastic reason to stay healthy :)

How was Christmas dinner Tete? Hope it was worth the wait! :)

Great news about the operation shrimpy! Will be thinking about you on Sunday! :)

I didn't realise the Hobbit was out now! :o We'll be going to see it at some point I'm sure, how was it Lara? :)

Glad that it's Friday! Going to try to leave early today too :) It's festive dress down day, so you know what that means! :xmastree:

  • Eeep, get the jumper on Birdie!! I've got a Christmas jumper on again today :) I really want to wind down for my holidays now, only three working days left, but have a bazillion things to do

Ahh I want to see the Hobbit! It's the only one of Tolkien's books I've actually managed to finish! The the absolute WORST thing about being single is having no-one to go to the cinema with - friends have always already seen things with their OHs

Christmas dinner was nice yesterday - really tasty, however I work with such a load of flumps. SUCH a load of stupid waffle around the table! BUT I did meet probably the only other person in the country who has a cat called Mavis, I was actually shocked! This girl is pregnant too so I'm intrigued to see what she calls her baby :D

Trying to convince the missus to go and see it, fancy coming with? I will warn you now there is a distinct possibility of my bouncing with excitement / bemoaning inaccuracies, but its always more fun to go in a group.

So happy you got your op rebooked, Shrimpy!! You were right to complain, and don't feel bad about it. You don't know how many people she spoke horribly too who didn't call her out on it, so you've done the next people who have to deal with her a favour too :p hope it all goes well xx

Shame you don't live closer to me Tete, you could have joined us! I think it's me, OH and my Sister going at some point (she kind of gate crashes our dates because she wasn't sensible enough to have a partner in the same stretch of land as her ;) ) But I don't think it'll be until the NY when she's back from Americas.

Hope everyone with broken bits are okay! I can believe that about the runner, Tete. I've seen my bosses in the zone when they're running and they don't notice a thing.

Quick post as I'm on my mobily so sorry I haven't replied to everyone. Hope you all have a nice, warm and dry, weekend :) I'll reply properly on Monday!

Awww no, it wasn't that good, I'm gutted! It was a lot more silly than LOTR. The banter between Legolas and Gimli really works, but when everybody does it all the time it gets a bit cheesy. WHY did they cast James Nesbitt, he was so pants in it, even as a dwarf :rotfl:
