I used to have pots, but it drove me batty either logging the ammounts on a spreadsheet, or having 6 or 7 different accounts. So I'd rather just stick as much as I can into one account and take out what I need when I need it.

Grace has gotten super mobile recently, two weeks ago she wouldn't roll onto her front, and if you put her there she couldn't get back onto her back, now she can 360 roll everywhere, and she's pushing her bum up in the air with her legs straight in a little invested V - but she can't prop up on her arms so she just looks really odd!

Aww, that's so sweet Dinah! Glad you had a good time at your work do. Perhaps you could negotiate part time hours? (Although I know you have tricky childcare arrangements). Sorry about the money shortfall, great that you have huge OD. Maybe Santa will give you some cash this year :)? I hope he brings me some too!

Tete - I could join you for a Christmas movie today too. Elf would be great, I love that film.

I am happy because I managed to meet another deadline today, yay!

Still haven't heard back about India though. Boo.

Shrimpy - thinking of you. Hope you're recovering well.

Ruby hope your Dad is enjoying his new pressie :)

Wish we could have a big threadie crimbo party!

Ahh a party would be lovely Lara! Well done on smashing another deadline! :T Hope you hear back about India very soon. :)

I've already watched a few Christmas movies; Elf, The Santa Clause, Home Alone 2 (since OH complained that we always only ever watch the first one... then we realised why! :p), The Muppet Christmas Carol, Scrooged, Die Hard... :) Still got plenty more to watch before the big day though! :)

Clever Gracie for getting all roly and mobile! :j

I haven't been to Beamish in years, have fun Tete! Last time I went with my Dad he got really upset as the train wasn't running and complained for about 30 minutes to the poor manageress who just wanted him to go home and stop moaning, as did I for that matter! :o

  • Glad everyone had a lovely weekend. Well done Lara for reaching another deadline!

We went to to see Santa on a children's farm on Saturday and then to a 4th birthday party yesterday. Both days were lovely, although Max wasn't too impressed that Santa didn't give him his garage on Saturday.

I am going on a night out with old school friends this Wednesday and then we are going to another farm to see Santa and his reindeer on Sunday, plus the mother and toddler Xmas party on Friday. I tell you, my kids social life is non-stop!

I am going back to work 2 days a week after Xmas. I think it is the right time (Evie will be 16 months and Max nearly 3)and like the balance of 2 days work and 5 days with them.

I only see the point in having savings if you don't have debts, atm everything is interest free, but in Aprilish it starts on interest, so we need to clear it before then. Once our debts are gone we're looking forward to having a nice savings fund behind us.

I don't know, in my eyes is a point. OH and I are saving for things along side setting up to clear our loan, it gets you out of the circle of paying for essential things with more debt. I mean, wouldn't it have been nicer to have had the £1555 paid off rather than £1555 more in the overdraft? But at least you had the overdraft there to use :) How's the alfa running?

So cute with Grace! She'll be tearing around the place in the blink of an eye being a little (adorable) monster.

I think we're all wishing for a bit of cash, Lara :xmassmile Can't believe it's Christmas Day a week in the future! You seem to be in the zone with your deadlines :) How many do you have left to do now?

Sounds like you've got a busy week of it, CMD! Is it your old job you're going back to or a new one?

Have you seen the advert for the Just Dance Disney Party, Birdie? There's one bit with parents dancing along behind their kids, but they seem to be dancing with 1000x more gusto. Couldn't help think that's what you'll be like one day when it comes to your kids and Disney! :D

Abso-frickin-lutely! :D I'm hoping Santa will put it in my stocking but not getting my hopes up too high for it as none of the boxes under the tree are Just Dance shaped and he'd probably buy me the regular Just Dance rather than the Disney one. :o Maybe it can be my little New Year treat to myself! :)

If I'd had the £1555 in savings, our debt would only be £1555 higher on the credit card because we'd not paid that bit off, and mentally I find the overdraft a lot easier as it's so fluid, running it up this month isn't a big deal to me, the credit card is the priority as it's the one we have to make minimum payments on.

Grace appears to think she's a present... she keeps wiggling back off her mat until she's on her tummy curled up under the tree!

Bad influence reporting for duty. The Kurt Geiger outlet has all the shoes at £29 or less - https://www.shoeaholics.com, some amazing bargains to be had for those who've been holding off waiting for the sales. Also a free lucky dip gift. Don't forget quidco!
