HUGE congratulations to Flower and NIM! Fantastic news! :j
Cinny hope you're ok xx
My OH is a Ciaran and it's pronounced Keer-un. If that makes sense.. But I also knew a Ciaran in Aus who pronounced it Keer-on.
My OH has won tickets to see Jack Dee at the Hammersmith Apollo!Which is awesome. Only downside, I won't be able to make the York meet which is so gutting!
OH was lovely and said we could go to York instead if we like but he loves Jack Dee, and it's on his birthday weekend so I'd feel like the worst girlfriend ever if we didn't go!

Dinah, did you order the meat/veg box via Amazon after?
Mine came today and I must say I am very pleased with the amount of food I got for just under £26.
I made a stew today with the lamb pieces, hubby was VERY impressed!
Thanks for the tip.

My Boss's niece is called Amelie, I love the name! Plus she's this adorable kid who carries a stuffed bunny around everywhere with her, which helps. I know a girl who's planning on calling her daughter Daenerys, I think that's pretty awesome. Is that where Aria comes from, CMD?
But speaking of, I loaned my kindle out to my friend so she can read the Game of Thrones series, so I've had to buy myself part one of the 5th book in paperback so I have something to read on the train to York, because I can't be bothered to ask for it back
Waiting on a call from my GP at the moment, so I'm a real nervous Nelly
Hope you're okay Cinny and the doc gave you good news.
Aria has been about as a name longer than GOT, I only know of an 'aria' as in a piece of music, but it's a name I love.Tete_en_l'Air wrote: »Hello NiceDream! I seem to think it's quite hard to make any real money from blogging TBH. There are certainly several 'levels' of bloggers, based on traffic, followers etc. When I looked at mine though I'm technically the same level as a girl I know who has 10x more followers than me - but she gets loads of freebies all the time whereas I was once approached to do a post about Vanish or something (which I declined because it doesn't really fit!)totallybonkers wrote: »Morning ladies - I've had an email from Pinecone Research letting me refer people. Its £3 per survey, either in paypal or luncheon vouchers, and they pay out nice and quickly. I'm sure some of you are already members. Have pm-d you. Thanksshrimpy_80 wrote: »Just popping in to say huge massive congratulations to NIM and Flower - and Tete if you could hold off dreaming about me until after the wedding that would be appreciated
I started my new job on Monday and its going really well, but shared office + corner desk + strict internet policy = no mse(errr... and no pinterest, no wedding planning, no internet banking, generally none of the things that used to occupy my day!) I also managed to write my car off at the weekend so might not be able to make the meet now as the finances are pretty tight - need to take a good look at things and see where I stand. But just writing that down has made me so sad that I will try to manage it somehow!
Just one very quick practical note on NIM returning to uni - at my old workplace uni the waiting list for the nursery was ridiculous - pushing two years - it seems that you've already looked into it but thought it was worth a mention.
There is a wait at the uni nursery, but you can put your name down as soon as you apply to the uni, so from October, if she didn't get in straight away when he started its not the end of the world, but would obviously help.Hello
Just popping in after a quick read (debt free boards are more friendly than the savings, although i've never quite worked out why?!).
Dinah93, I've read back a few pages and you said you wanted to try and find a way to work from home. I wondered as you posted a blog link whether you have you ever thought about trying to do a parent/Mum blog? I have a couple of friends who work for marketing agencies and their role is to find (mainly parent) bloggers to write about products on their blogs. I think you have to get up a certain number of views/links to be able to be approached. You can make money by reviewing products (not just by having a free product) and it can open up other routes such as focus groups. That's where my knowledge stops with these things but it might be worth a google.
It's a little cringe and takes the heart out of blogging but it might be worth selling your soul to the blog devils  (closest thing) if you're already doing so.
Thanks for posting. I'm a bit hesitant to sell it out as I know blogs I follow that do that I tend to stop following, but I suppose it's something to consider as an occasional post if it gets me closer to my Gracie goal.Tesco_points_addict wrote: »Dinah, did you order the meat/veg box via Amazon after?

I did, I thought it was good value too, the bacon is really nice, check the date on your chicken, ours was really short and I didn't realise so it ended up in the bin. However it's £39 for additional boxes, plus the £6 postage, and we can't really stretch to that right now, although when you work it out I'm not sure it's any more expensive, and quite probably cheaper than the supermarket. I just don't buy bacon or sausages etc as they're a bit fatty (although those sausages were fantastic in pasta bake) so not being able to pick whats in the box is a negative for me.
Been pretty out of it today, had a shocking migrane again this morning. Third one in a month, last year while pregnant I didn't have a single one, and only one since having Grace, so I have to assume it's a stress thing.
Planted our first plants yesterday, and NIM made bread again today, the self sufficient revolution continues.
Up at Newcastle tomorrow for the cardiologist for Grace, apparently last time I saw her I told mum Grace might be discharged from their service to local care only if the results are good, so fingers crossed, or at least she's stayed the same so is on the service but no closer to needing another op.
Been doing a few more designs for dad, sounds like he's getting a bit of repeat business which is good, although how much profit each order is making seems to be up for debate.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Hoping the results were good too, Dinah. I doubt they'd be anything but positive, she always seems to surprise you!
Does anyone have any nice plans for the bank holiday? I'm working tomorrow, but we're going out tonight for tea and a bit of shopping. Hoping we end up somewhere lovely and sunny with Ryder on Monday, but OH's so tuckered out from work that lazing in the garden with a BBQ and some cider is more likely!0 -
Hope Grace was amazing as usual for you.
I'm going away on a youth weekend this weekend so won't see DH even though he's off this weekendgutted really but is youth weekend is good for me for my job so I need to go really. Would much rather be lying in the sun in the garden though

Hi all. Grace's appointment went pretty well, still has a hole in her heart, but pressures are normal. If a hole is under 6mm it almost always closes on its own, if its over 8mm it doesn't. Hers is 7-8mm, so likelyhood is it won't close, but whether it will need treatment is still debatable, it might be okay left. If it does need surgery hopefully we can do it via a catheter up her leg when she's about 5 or 6, and not have to do it as heart surgery requiring bypass.
NIM in Ireland this weekend, Grace and I are going to go to the Dales festival of food and drink in Leyburn one of the days, other than that I hope to do a bit of sewing and get a few more things planted in the garden.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
