Dinah, if you need to have another interview make sure that you have someone else with you. Just to sit in as a witness. Also I thought that they weren't allowed to put pressure on you if you are off with stress/ depression. Surely this is going to set you back. As long as you have sick notes can they really get rid of you?Total debt Feb 2012 = £54354.11 😳
😁Debt Free and you can do it too0 -
Apparently they can if it would have an excessive detrimental impact on the operation of the business, although I'm not sure how they can argue it would since I've been off on maternity leave for a year. And yes, I definitely think it's set me back already. My plan remains to go to the doctor and tell me to drug me to the gills so I can go to work and not feel anything, I can't risk loosing my job.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Big hugs everyone and zig well done on the job - will you have to move away or how will the location affect things? You'll work through the long distance (if it is) and once you get rid of your debt you'll be in such a better position I'm sure!
I can't really offer any advice Dinah I'm sorry! Just hate to hear you upset and it sucks when things are beyond your control and unfair! Are you still being paid? What role is it that you do? Could they not recruit a suitably skilled temp? It just seems like forcing you to quit is not going to do you any good
If it does all go down the pan though how are your other ventures going? The cake one and the one with your dad is it? Are they both still going? If you're feeling down it might be good to focus on planning an exit strategy just in case if you know what I mean!0 -
No advice here either but very similar happened to my friend too. What is in your contract? I remember mine said that if I was longer than a certain period sick ( I think 4 weeks) than they could let me go, having said that they were brilliant and never pressurised any of us. Leo was off sick for 4 months before he died and he had a meeting with pr too, I remember he was so stressed about losing his job. They told him that they couldn't let him go but he would only receive ssp after 5 months (he got full salary for the time he was sick-airline company).
Just pls don't stress more, you need to stay calm for your little girl.0 -
Sounds like a horrible situation, Dinah. Honestly - if I were you I'd quit, or just let them fire me. If you do return to work you'll resent the whole situation, and it will just make your health worse. Couldn't you look for a part time job somewhere? Like in a cafe, or a little office. I know you might see it as a step down from where you're at now, but it will be a lot less stressful - it gets you out for a little while, keeps some money coming in and gives you time to focus on working up a SAH business.
It just frustrating that you're clearly having mental health problems following having Grace, along side Grace's health, but they don't seem to be taking it into consideration. If you'd been in a bad car accident after having Grace (sound's morbid, but stay with me..) they would not be pressuring you into returning. When wounds and issues are visible, people seem to be way more tolerant of the situation, when it's mental health they seem to treat it like it's not a valid illness. *gently steps off soap box* We'll take your mind off it all this weekend, with pottery!
Have to say though Birdie, there is no way you'll get through the GOT books before your holiday - I wouldn't worry! Took me months to get through the first because I was reading and re-reading chapters.0 -
Thanks Tink
I don't need to move which is good, just can't travel to see OH during the week. But feel much more positive now I've had my first day and I'm excited about being able to pay off some of my debt!

I couldn't agree more with Cinny. You really need to look after yourself, so you can look after your family. Would you consider a smaller role elsewhere or is it important to stay where you are? Hope you've had a good day xTotal Debt (Dec 2015) £11,500 : Currently £7,675Lose 21lb : 0/21

Gosh has it been a short week?! I can't even remember the beginning of the week now!
Really looking forward to tomorrow! I'm also having a wardrobe crisis - if I only had some grey tights I'd be fine...I had my hair cut last night so you'll have to excuse my too-short fringe (I made her take a bit extra off to get my money's worth) :money:

I loved my dark purple tights for this wierd transition period but ripped a massive hole in them on Tuesday! Then ripped another pair on Wednesday!
Not a lucky tights week for me.
