Bl00dy men eh
I can understand, it's not so much the affair itself but to have been doing all she could to support him through his 'depression' while it was going on
Driving's a brilliant thing to focus on CMD, it'll change your life
Anyone watching the Great British Sewing Bee tonight?
Thanks Tete. I feel like I will never get the hang of the clutch and acceleration but I'm sure I'll get there in the end! Can't wait to be able to just nip here and thereTotal (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

CMD - clutch was my biggest nightmare too. The driving instructor used to laugh at me and said I whacked the gearstick around like I thought I was Arnie
And then one day it just clicked

Thanks Beccie. It feels like it will never click at the moment. How long (roughly) before it clicked?Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

She feels very stupid that she supported him going away for weekends 'walking to clear his head' when obviously that wasn't the case at all. I told her she isn't the slightest bit stupid - the only stupid one is him. She was already in a bit of a spin Thursday from being diagnosed with osteoporosis and then he dumps that one on Friday.
Sounds like your mum was a very supporting wife. And he abused her trust. Osteoporosis as well? It never rains but it poursGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
I don't know how people can do it Beccie I really don't. There's no shame in having trusted someone, like you say, it's him who's stupid.
You'll get there CMD! How many lessons have you had so far? Are you practising in between? If so I found I had real trouble getting to grips with the clutch because I was alternating between the instructor's car and my own - once I passed and was just using one car it was fine.
The Great British Sewing Bee - a bit like Project Runway I'm told, but I've never seen that. I'm hoping it'll at least inspire me to make something. Was aiming for 12 in 12 (a garment a month) for 2013, but I've not made anything yetWeightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -

I have had 2 lessons so far and am practising in the instructors and my mams car too.

Tete & Star - my thoughts exactly. I am sure I can safely tell her that this whole thread would side with her
CMD - I won't lie, it was one of the last things to fall into place. However, by then I was well practiced in everything else so put in for my test and passed first time, I'm sure you can do it!Debt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0 -
2 lessons is nothing CMD, you'll be fine soon enough!!
Also, it doesn't matter if you stall on your test, it's how you manage it that matters

I might give that a little watch.
A few years ago I remember watching Project Runway and getting super excited that a Barbie designer was a contestant but he sucked so bad, clearly he couldn't design decent clothes for full-sized people!
I was really disappointed!
CMD, don't worry that it hasn't clicked after 2 lessons, crikey, that's nothing! I didn't even get let loose on a real road until my 4th lesson! These things take different people different lengths of time to get, and the trigger is different for everyone.
OH drove us around yesterday and even though he's got his license now he's still constantly overthinking what he's doing (I hate being driven by him, my poor nerves can't handle it!
) and I can tell it's still not 100% clicked into place yet. Roundabouts are the worst and it's SO HARD not to scream at him to 'Speed up! Indicate! Look out for that massive van heading right into our path!' _pale_
Big hugs for your poor Mum Beccie. She's not stupid for supporting your Dad at all, he's stupid for abusing her trust for so long! He'll come crawling back in no time too, like so many men do once they realise how stupid they've been.Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0
