I know, NIM found it very strange to wait so long, but most babies over here are 6-12 months, Grace will be an old one but I didn't want to lug the oxygen tank up to the font, and obviously couldn't do it through winter, so now she'll be answering back to the vicar!
Did you buy her a new christening gown or is there one in the family? M wore OH's and Evie wore her cousins, which I bought from Next! It was lovely that M wore OH's though
My nephew/godson was christened at 7 months and we thought it was so old but it's just because we are used to them being tiny when they are christened. I think I was christened at about 2 weeks old!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

I was about the same CMD, its one of the first phonecalls that was made with me, Grandparents, aunts and uncles, priest, friends.
To be fair that tends to be the way in Ireland generally, or at least it did. This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.:j:j:j:j0 -
Woop! I finally finished my work :j :j Day OFF! It's so sunny here too. First I'm off to Canary Wharf to pick up my book club book and then home for chick flicks - I've got Friends with Benefits all lined up :rotfl: Just need the popcorn now

Ah well done Lara! So proud of you! :T Enjoy your well earned day off!
Really remembering that I *hate* organising things today. People are still maintaining radio silence about this blasted weekend away and now the lodge is booked for our designated date! Going to spit my dummy out if no-one replies to my message about the only other available date before the price doubles for the summer season.Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -

Birdie - send an email round saying "as no one replied to my previous email it was obvious that no one had any issues with the dates and venue so now it's all booked and I would like your deposits by Friday"
Can't believe babies are christened so young in Ireland. I could barely function when mine were 2 weeks old never mind organise a christening too!!! DD was 9 months old and DS was a bit younger at 5 months. DS was only christened so young as it was done the same weekend as my 30th so family and friends who were travelling down only had to make the journey once.Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Aww Dinah you're bound to be emotional around any milestones with Grace for a while yet as she was so poorly when she was first born, don't feel silly
The last couple of christenings I've been too, both babies were about 18 mths and I thought that was old - I think it's more the parents' lack of organisation than any real cultural thing though!
Well done on your work Lara, must be a massive relief, you enjoy those chick flicks, hope you've got some maltesers or something to scoff as well!
I've just said on my diary but in case you missed it, I've been offered a place on a course for September!! Can't quite believe it's actually happening - yay and yikes!!
Oh and Birdie that is SOO annoying, why can't people commit to anything these days?Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
What course Tete? And where's your diary?

Well done Lara! Hope you have an amazing, relaxed day!
And HUGE congrats Tete - off to your diary now for the full scoop!
Birdie, I hope you get some replies! I know in my group of friends, everyone used to complain about not getting together enough etc but when you try to organise anything, no-one ever commits! Luckily we now have a 'Monica' who seems to thrive on organising and will happily message daily (or more) until everyone coughs up! I think you have to annoy people into responding sometimes but I would find that a bit stressful tbh. Hope you get it booked! Dinah - no need to feel silly, I think your reasons are spot on and I'm sure it will be a lovely christening
Rubbish with your friends Birdie - organising things is such a pain when other people don't help!
What's everyone's weekend plans? (I don't work Fridays so on Thursdays I get into weekend mode)
I'm going to a Comic Relief event on Friday in the pub - Miss World competition but with men competing  Saturday day-time I'll be working in the pub then Sunday I'll be going for a 10 mile walk - got to start getting ready for May! And of course, free-listing weekend so the dreaded eBay :eek:Debt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0
