Sounds like things are going pretty well Pilchard!
Annoying about the Music Magpie stuff though!
I think the sound of posh afternoon tea sounds lovely Star! Have fun!
I was tempted to just book the lodge Cinny, but £400 for a 3-day break just for the 2 of us (if everyone decided they couldn't go!) is just too much!Spoke to them last night and said I'm booking it this afternoon, if they've any major objections they're to let me know this morning.
Anyway, OH and I are planning on having a couple of days at Alton Towers at the end of April! Woo! Not been there for years.Figured out I've got enough Clubcard vouchers to pay for 2 tickets to the park and we're going to treat ourselves and stay at the hotel and go to the waterpark.
Just need to book it all tonight!

Great news on the bills Pilchard! I still haven't sorted ours out properly from moving house
Hope you enjoy your afternoon tea Star, I think asking everyone to dress up is a brilliant idea. Can I come?
And :j for Alton Towers Birdie! We used to go every year but haven't been for the last couple. Never done the waterpark but always really wanted to, OH isn't a massive fan as he says the rides give him a headache (?). Have you been to Scarefest? That's my favourite! How was the shabby chic shopping (easier to type than to say!) go? Any freebies? Oooh that reminds me - I wanted to say another big big thank you to you for sending me those papers a while back. I have used them for my invitations and I am so so pleased with how they've turned out (I've only finished 9 so far, but lets not think about that!) I will put some pics up to show you but was thinking last night how super grateful I am to you for themBarclaycard [STRIKE]£7,296.35[/STRIKE] £6134.99 - MBNA [STRIKE]£4,182.88[/STRIKE] £3267.08 - O/draft [STRIKE]£569.31[/STRIKE] £413.59 - Capital One [STRIKE]£1477.55[/STRIKE] £1451.44Total debt [STRIKE]£12048.54[/STRIKE] £11267.10 6% paid0 -
Aww I'm so glad you found them useful!
Can't wait to see pictures!
My OH goes crazy for waterparks, his dream holiday location is here so he can go on the big slides all day, every day!
Never been to Scarefest.Even though Alton Towers is only about 2 1/2 hours away we can never be bothered to travel that far, hence us making it a 'proper' mini-break!
Shabby chic night was pretty good. The lady said that there wasn't as much money spent this time but I got a few freebies so I'm quite happy.Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Congrats on surviving the deadline, Lara! You must be walking on air right now
How exciting that you'll be Dr Lara by the end of the year!
Yay on the invitations, Shrimpy! I think small batches is the way to go... (Glad you've got all the minor details - like the address - sorted now, my OH would have been in the doghouse for sure!) Would love to see pics
Birdie, hope you manage to get your girls' break booked soon - that place looks fab! And yippee for Alton Towers! I grew up just down the road in Cheshire and I LOVED it - haven't been for a few years now, but still do!

So, of the 4 categories, we entered 3 and won 2 of them, but I returned one of the prizes.
The prize I returned was £10 of sandwiches and that has been added to the total being raised for red nose day. the prize I kept was the steak dinner for 2.This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.:j:j:j:j0 -
Congratulations Dinah and Nim (Dinah for the baking and NIM for the encouraging noises!) Now... where's my cake?
Thanks Poddle, I took a few pics on my phone last night but they didn't come out very well - I need the photos to do justice to the blood sweat and tears and hours of guillotining bits of card that are taking place! And then you all have to be nice about them or I'll cryBarclaycard [STRIKE]£7,296.35[/STRIKE] £6134.99 - MBNA [STRIKE]£4,182.88[/STRIKE] £3267.08 - O/draft [STRIKE]£569.31[/STRIKE] £413.59 - Capital One [STRIKE]£1477.55[/STRIKE] £1451.44Total debt [STRIKE]£12048.54[/STRIKE] £11267.10 6% paid0 -
Of course you can come shrimpy. The more the merrier
I can't wait to see your invites. Bet they'll be fab.
Birdie what's a shabby chic shopping night? What things were being sold?
Well done dinah and NIM on the cake/pie entries.
I got an unexpected cheque through the post today for £292 so I am going to add that to my MM total as its gone straight in the bank as a starter to paying off the joint account o/d which hopefully will be gone by the end of the month.

I'm sure they'll be amazing Shrimpy!
How many have you got to make?
Very well done Dinah for winning 2 prizes for your baking! :T
OH is annoying me and is telling me to hold off on booking Alton Towers now as it's going to be 'expensive' and for what we'll spend on that, and other days out during our week off we might as well go on a cheap holiday! I know this is a silly thing to get worked up since I shouldn't be upset about the prospect of a holiday but we were supposed to be taking the week of the 22nd April off work to have a cheap 5 day break away. He couldn't get that off work so booked the following week without checking but I've got a ticket to see Mcfly on the Wednesday and said that I don't want to cancel it and let my friends down, whom I barely see as it is. He was OK with that and said we'd do something Sat-Tue or Thu-Sun. Now he's moaning about wanting to go away for the full week and how it's unfair that we can't have a holiday for the sake of a 'lame' £30 concert ticket, but that's not the point! He should have thought about this in the first place, he should have pushed for a different week off at work if he wanted to go away and he should understand that when he makes plans I accept them as set-in-stone and work around them yet my plans are supposed to be flexible according to his whims?!
He's even trying to make me feel guilty about taking his Mum out tomorrow because rugby's been cancelled and he'll be lonely and bored. It doesn't bother him that for 6 months of the year I spend most of my Saturday afternoons alone so try to make plans meaning I'm not wasting my day off... yet if he announces on Friday that he's suddenly free I'm to drop everything and entertain him?! Grrrr, the dude can be so self centered!

Cross posted Star
The shabby chic stuff is mainly East Of India and Gisela Graham bits, the lady has loads (took her 2 hours to set it all up!) and we just had a couple of drinks, some nibbles, some gossip and picked out some nice things.

Oh I love Gisela Graham. I was looking at some East of India ribbons on Amazon but didn't realise they did all the other stuff. I sense a Friday afternoon procrastination browse on the horizon!
I wouldn't miss out on McFly eitherI hate it when stuff clashes, it seems like you have weeks with nothing exciting happening then everything always comes at once so you have to choose. Is the holiday a possibility at another time in the year or is this it for the year? Hopefully he's just having a grump and will be super nice to you over the weekend to make up for it
I find with my OH he just can't think about stuff too far in advance, so he'll say he's fine with something without really thinking it over, then when it gets a bit closer he turns his attention to it and decides he doesn't want to go along with it after all. Drives me crazy!
