In my case, my local Tory MP "had to" stand down as a result of the expenses scandal; it's a shame because he was a pretty good representative.
The replacement was parachuted in from another town and I was doubtful of his inclinations towards supporting the town.
On the evidence of the time since the election, I'm not seeing too much from the new man (though he has started sending out newsletters, which is a big step forward), so I'm not sure about next time.
I'm likely to abstain, as I did in the last local elections.
I would have thought that the Conservatives should be showing a 'sense of urgency' by now and get in touch with the Electorate at their level, I'm just hoping that they are not going to leave it too late.
Not being into Politics very deeply, as in the understanding of deep lying issues that confuse me no end, in my humble opinion I would have thought that being in the 21st century we maybe should have had a second General Election that just may have given one Party a clear working majority instead of forming a Coalition with two parties with different views.
The electorate did not vote in any party conclusively, so a rerun should have been called.
Its like running a kitchen with too many cooks and we know all know what can happen there.0

Perhaps they aren't bothered, realise they are on ahiding to nothing and happy to pass on the chalice;)"If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....
"big business is parasitic, like a mosquito, whereas I prefer the lighter touch, like that of a butterfly. "A butterfly can suck honey from the flower without damaging it," "Arunachalam Muruganantham0

Sometimes in life we can often cocoon ourselves in our own chosen brand of ideology and become oblivious to any outside influences and develop tunnel vision.
At times we have to believe in our plans for a brighter future rather than dwelling on the dark and dismal past.
To err is human. To blame someone else is politics - Aeschylus0

They are all so blinkered they now cannot see their nose at the end of their face.
How embarrassing that must be for them, I am starting to feel sorry for them.0

Take the mutual masturbation somewhere else will you. It's making me feel faintly unwell0

Now you are stooping very low using such filthy comments just as your friend did, your education is letting you down.
Stop the mutual masturbation and I'll stop complaining about it.
If we're going to criticize people for their comments, laughing at people for mental illnesses contracted by childhood abuse isn't exactly a high point of debate on this board.0

You are so correct and I think with that over lets look forward to a better year ahead. Have a nice day.0
