Of course, let's take on more public debt, pour it into creating great swathes of non-jobs in the public sector, and call that growth. That'll sort it. Must be right, Ed Balls says so -- and look at his track record ........

Now George .. the Conservative track records have not really been a lot to talk about these past few years that I know of.

If only they ignored the opposition, which as you say do not have any answers or plans for our future, and used the time spent bickering to being foreward thinking leaders maybe the Electorate would listen.
  • Voting UKIP will just let Labour in. Those who do it will then be crying their eyes out, and blaming Cameron for not delivering a clear majority, like many no doubt did last time.

Thats fine, they can finish their work of destroying the country. Afterwards , the successful people like me will rebuild it in quite a different format, no benefits, free health care (ie paid for by someone else)

It will be brilliant. The hard working will enjoy the "benefits" of their hard work, and those who dont left to die. Hurrah. Just how it always had been till evil socialism took root in the west.

Come on, it's Frazzled Friday -- our minds are not sharp or alert enough to cope with such subtle and sophisticated humour.
No-one would remember the Good Samaritan if he'd only had good intentions. He had money as well.

The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money.

Yes, votes should be given out based on contribution to the state.

So those that pay nothing in do not get to vote. Every £5k in tax paid is another vote.

Fine just wondered how you will account for VAT and Duty paid or isn't that real tax?

We need fundimental change to how our society works. We should abolish all local councils, education authorities, health authorities and replace these with companies that are given a set of criteria made by the public, and they must achieve each year to receive payment and a % of the profits made. The reality of human nature is that most people are not saints and will only work under incentive. We do not need 650MPs and 775 Lords. Large areas of government should be run by professionals, so for example the school curriculum is set by Oxbridge, Environment, by professors from our agricultural and biosciences universities. In this way long term objectives can be acheived without party motivated tinkering every 5 years.

The 650 MPs was probably a good idea pre modern communications and indeed the internet, when it was impossible for local people to have their say on issues so a MP was elected.

Now days, we could easily vote electronically on most issues. But of course that would be democracy which is something we do not have, instead we elect people who then think they know better or who are whipped to follow the party line. What is the point?
  • Yes but also nowadays we have much more canny voters due to the internet, social media, facebook, twitter! They no longer trust the line they are spun thru the bbc! That's power to democracy!

Considering that at many of our past General Elections the percentage of voters that actually do turn up to vote, in my mind, is disgustingly very low.

How can we get a higher percentage off their backsides and get them down to the Ballot Stations and do the honorable thing and vote, many who make the most noise about Government policies are those who cannot be bothered to vote.

When there is a real choice with some hope of success people will come running to vote, for the torys this dynamic uniquely will ruin their chances with ukip.
Proudly voted remain. A global union of countries is the only way to commit global capital to the rule of law.
  • Ukip seems to have become the latest party of protest and this shows no sign of abating. Questions have been asked about whether they will come running back to Tories - answer = not if Cameron is still their leader.... no deal!
