The only two marathons I did, that is how I trained. However I 'blew up' in both of them.
The London was the heat as it was a very hot day.
I think that getting some longer runs in would really help.
Do you think you could fit in a 16, 20,20 miles
Also, it's better to focus on miles rather than time, as the race is all about getting the miles done.
If you can manage a 3.5 hr 20 miler you will probably run inside 4.30in a race I guess.
And you need to hold back in the opening 10 miles or so.
I certainly don't want to teach you to suck eggs, it's just my first London Marathon I blew at 20, the second I came in ahead of target and although I hit the wall at 22 miles I had enough to keep going.
Just some thoughts.Sealed Pot Challenge 2013: No 1898

Not really an early runner, but a 56.50 10 km yesterday morning was nice, if a bit chilly.
Have to go out early tomorrow too due to work….
good luck runners!Sealed Pot Challenge 2013: No 1898

Disaster (minor)
I am injured. An ankle injury that is not getting better, only a week until first race day, so no runs next week.Sealed Pot Challenge 2013: No 1898

Finally after having a dodgy foot (felt like one of the bones on the top of the foot had moved IYKWIM) and resting (still walking but not running) for a few weeks it feels better and I've been out for a test 40 min jog this morning along the riverbank.
Was a bit harder than it used to be but I finally found my pace and enjoyed it. The foot feels fine too - result!
Now the days are getting longer and the weather is a bit better (no snow or ice) I can get back into it! Hurrah!0 -
Don't know whether there was any way of doing another 7 miles or so
Will try and do a 9 miler today at slightly higher h/r and then another long run next week sometimeYear 2019 (1,700/£17000mortgage repayment)Overall mortgage (71,400/165568) (44

After a gap of last week (feeling poorly), I managed another very slow and uncomfortable 3.5k with stops and a little walking - but no restaurant afterwards. I sat on the sofa to 'watch a little "Cat Ballou" ' and promptly feel totally asleep.
Hopefully this week, work won't be quite so manic, so I can make it out at least once or twice to try and start building up some non-existent stamina. I know I need to do more, but honestly, keeping my job has got to be a priority for me at this point in my life.0 -
Nice to see some good runs out there, I am taking the pain killers, hoping I can race on Sunday.Sealed Pot Challenge 2013: No 1898
