GO! its really good fun. and you will be surprised how running with others will help.

I really miss them, mine is too far away.

The atmosphere is great, and even if you are stone dead last, they will encourage you all the way.:)

best run of the year so far.
That was after a 12 hr shift, with no food, and just a cup of water before I left.

I was tempted to go for a full 13.1 half marathon, but i was close to work and didnt fancy the extra loop

    anyway, out again tomorrow…

    anyone else been popping out

  • Need to get up to your milage now mascott 11 miles nice! I only have the odd hour here and there so until I get quick enough to do 11 miles in an hour i'm stuck with my few miles. Saying that I managed 7.5 on monday morning and a 4 miler tuesday. Definately feeling a bit fitter for more regular running. Will try and get out Friday morning I think.
  • Nice running running lea, 1hr 40, pretty good.
Poodlegal, thanks, 11 miles in an hour would be lovely! Happy with my progress so far. I felt pretty strong for most of that 11 miler. And managed another 10km in 54.15 mins tonight, and another run tomorrow night, so starting to get some miles in the legs.

Next weeks long run will be a half, just to clock a time to see where I am.

Good luck to all getting out there.

    Just think…. soon be summer!

The only probs with my new trainers is they are very bright. !

A quick run through the mud will solve that easily enough . . .

But the point is that you DID it. Well done you! And its more than I've done.

Although, my regular email from my running club says they're doing a couple of 'coaching in the community runs' for beginners/improvers starting this week. I might give it a try on Sunday as going from nothing (for almost two years!) to 5K (with stops), might be a bit much to launch straight back into. I know the park they're running in and its beautiful. Now, all I have to do is find those trainers of mine . . . Wish me luck. I think I'm going to need it.
  • I don't know whether to put my name down for a marathon end of March.

Using the same basis as constant heart rate - might do it as an experiment

Last time I did a marathon it took me 4hrs 30 but that was 1997
That was with a lot of training

This time try a different method
