  • Evening Rising,

I would get the tyres and scrap the service. Use some of your spare £50 to buy some oil and washer fluid for your car.

It will survive not having a service for one year. Unless it is a super new car which you plan to re-sell and need an up to date service book.

Or can you find a small local bloke that can do your service for a fraction of the £250 you have budgeted.

I would try to hold onto your budget and not add anymore to it, its a slippy slope once you start adding more on to this and that etc.

    Just flinging ideas round
    xx

  • Of course (and going to have a bit of a moan here :o) ... it's a bit blooming typical as the services go year 1 = small (£120), year 2 = big (£250), year 3 = small (£120) etc etc - so in a small service year, I get to build up a bit of a buffer for the next year (to cover things like tyres!)

2012 was a Year 2 big service ... so this year should've been a Year 3, small one BUT then I changed the car .... and have ended up at another Year 2 big one!

Apologies if that makes absolutely no sense ... IKWIM:o

:rotfl:I take it, that it isn't a brand new car then ?:)

Not sure what to suggest if you really want to have the tyres and the service this year. Don't think mine has seen a service over the last 3 years :o

She'll be 2 sometime in March (can't remember exact date) :) but the service isn't until August tho' as she was pre-reg (& 1st service wasn't until the Aug)

I would get the service done elsewhere but it b00gers up the warranty - which is one of the reasons I got her as it's 5 years so not really worth taking a chance on (they're pretty strict and you've only 3 weeks leeway or you're errrr you know!)

It does mean that next year will be easier (:rotfl:see wishing my life away again!) as we'll be back to the small service & I won't need tyres (which I had been expecting to get next year) .... *sigh* - just a short term cash flow issue this year :cheesy:

This is where I wish there was more leeway in the SOA ....... this is why I end up having pots for silly things like the bus fund and a new mattress as there's not really any "available funds" to save for them :(

A wee pic to cheer me up!

She was running around like a loon today  - this is a really nice walk that runs adjacent to the beach. There's loads of different paths to go up (but we stayed on the main one as it was our first time there & she was off everywhere as it was:eek:)

I think this was just about the only time she stood still! Have load of blurry pics of her walking / running / jumping!

She did find some muddy ditches to play in .... *sigh*
