  • I thought about moving last year (pretty seriously) as if I sold this place and moved a bit further up ..... to something a bit smaller & cheaper, I could very nearly be mortgage free (I'd still have a small one but much better than the HUGE one I've got now:().

Went to see a few houses & quite a few were bungalows (due to the area / price I was looking at) and would've been perfect ...... couldn't sell mine tho' - there were 6 on the market in my street - all near identical to mine & all been on for a long time so not much point in forking out for one of these report thing (which have to be renewed every 6 months  didn't know that!)

A couple of them have sold now (next door but 1 to me and one down the road - it was on for around 18 months  - they used to sell within a month here :() but still a few on and no buyers around:(

In my favour is that mine has one of the best locations in the street (not that I'm biased:o) - it's set back from the main st & has a field at the side of it .....

Our upstairs is usually really warm, but it's not been the last few months :( Radiator in the bathroom need a new washer or something. It's on DH's list of things to fix. Radiator in our room isn't working as good as it used to either, I'm taking two hot water bottles to bed now :)

Living room is much better though since I made two draft excluders for the doors! And next door have just had a wood burning stove installed, so the wall between us is now always toasty warm :)
Can't think of anything smart to put here...
  • Zepsgal have you tried bleeding the radiators? Honestly, I did mine upstairs the other day and I couldn't believe how much air came out of them :o (do the downstairs ones fairly regularly but can't remember when I last did upstairs as I really never have them on much!).

Part of my problem will be open doors .... unfortunately impossible to have them closed with 3 4-legged people around!

Also doesn't help that I've no porch (front) or conservatory (rear) so the cold's always getting in whenever one of said delectable 4-legged wants in or outside (frequent occurrence :().

That's also on the list for the next house ;) mmmm might just have to add that to a post at the start somewhere so I don't lose track!:)

Right - really must go for that hot choc now as absolutely freezing .... night all:)

  • I'm having a bit of a panic:eek:

Now .... my hair is really what I'd call my best feature - if asked to pick one:rotfl: Blondish in colour, very long, very thick & wavy and fabby easy to look after (wash, stick in a towel & take out when I go to bed;) - none of this brushing / drying malarkey for me!:T)

I hate getting it cut - can trim the sides / tidy it up myself but can't quite do the back so I do get it done every 6ish months - it's way overdue (should've been done August but put it off as I was skint:o and then being ill .....) so it's starting to look straggly and dare I say it my ponytail is starting to look like a rats tail . I had one longer bit in the middle so chopped that off last night (prob not my best move:o)

Anyway, recently I've felt like I'm losing quite a lot of it  - I wondered if it's because it's longer (you always notice losing long hair more as it tends to stick to things rather than fall off) but surely that shouldn't really change - unless it's the length adding to the volume?

So ..... did a really silly thing .... looked up new meds and :eek: sorry freaking a bit ...... hair loss can be one of the side effects:eek::eek: - too scared to go and read anymore - what if I lose it all?

Ahhhhh I had the exact same issue, my hair was falling out in clumps due to the tablets, that and I was losing more cognitive function by the day, so I took myself off of them ( really shouldn't have ) have been taking hair and nail supplements and it does seem to have worked, I'm still losing hair but no where near the handfuls I was losing before

What tablets are you on ?

Bungalows are great but I do find it a pest when your trying to sleep and can't because of the noise :)

You won't! Don't panic! I have long, blondish curly hair too (:D) and I am always finding hair everywhere, on my clothes, lots in my hair brush, when I'm in the shower - remember it's longer so there's more of it in one strand!

If you're really, really worried, you could pop to a pharmacy and ask them?

  • Thanks all ....... unfortunately I think it is the meds - I've thought when I've looked in the mirror a few times that it's been looking a lot thinner than usual but hadn't realised quite how much I've been losing :(

Luckily it is very thick but I'm worried

It'll be the influsions - it is listed as a possible side effect - but not one of the ones that are life threatening so it's quite far down the page ... and I'd not read that far before. TBH I didn't really want to know what they all were or I'd want to have them even less than I already do!
