Just to update you on the saga with cancelling the hi-life membership after the free trial. I sent the card back as requested at start July but they claim they haven't received it so my account was debited anyway, and stupidly I've lost my proof of purchase. The upshot is that they will charge a £10 fee for refunding my subscription. Or would charge a £5 fee for sending me a new card if I decided to keep it on. I decided to cancel.
So the important thing is if you're posting your card back after a free trial always send it registered post!! Hopefully will save someone else a few £0 -
have to say i took out a free trial of the North West version for period I was working in Blackpool and then cancelled without a problem.
Also my wife took out a free trail for NI card and again cancelled with no problem.
Seems like you have been unlucky Belfastgirl.0 -
Hi Ive just ordered the north east version of this card just for the trial.
am going to blackpool in october and if the trial is still on do you think my partner could order one for that area just for our hols? or do you think you would you be unable to get that when you register a north east address?
Also does this card entitle you to starters, mains and desserts - its doesnt mention on the site- or I cant find it just says two meals for one?
Thanks0 -

I got my card last year and have only used it 5 times but have saved over £90 on meals. I have used it in Mollys Yard, Northern Whig, Ivory, Fat Bhudda and 27 Talbot Street. In terms of food quality Ivory in Moira is tops.
A query for regular users of the discount card. Assuming you leave a tip, do you tip on the full value of the meal or on the bill, which is discounted?? I would always tip on the full meal value.
I will definitely renew my card when due.0
