I've just got my card for the free trial. I see the previous note about Burbon refusing at lunchtime - Can I ask you experienced Hi-Lifers if is generally required that you book at lunchtime and at what stage do you say about the card?

I also had problems with Burbon today. I have e-mailed Hi-life about this as below.and will post their reply.

"Hi I want to complain about Burbon Restaurant Belfast. Today I tried to book a table for lunch which I could do. However when I mentioned Hi-life card i was told "oh we already have all our Hi-life spaces allocated for today". Now this was at 10:55am and as you will be aware you can only book for Friday or Saturday on the day. I queried this with the person who told me "i have been told by my boss to tell people this".
Further to this I am the originator of a forum on moneysavingexpert.com and there is a posting regarding this establishment from another member who had been refused at lunchtime. Now if they decide not to accept at lunchtime or on a Friday that is their prerogative, however they should state this up front. If they are not accepting at all or finding excuses then they should not benefit from advertising on your site.
This incident caused me great embarrassment as i had invited work colleagues to be my guest"

If you do you should go through Belfast Telegraph link as you then get year membership for £39.95 saving £10.

Received reply from Hi Life regarding Burbon as below:

Thank you very much for your email regarding your disappointing experience
when trying to book at Bourbon, Belfast.

I completely agree that what seems to be happening here is totally
unacceptable. When restaurants agree to participate in Hi-Life they sign a
legally binding agreement contract which state times when the offer is or is
    not available.
At no time can they say they have filled their Hi-Life allocation. We had
previously been contacted by other Hi-Life members informing us of this
breach of contract at Bourbon and have been presented with no alternative
other than to remove them from the scheme.
We do this with a heavy heart but our primary concern is always to protect
the interests of Hi-Life members who, at the end of the day, are our most
    important concern.
    Yours sincerely
    David Heeley
    Company President
    Hi-Life Diners Club
P.S Please note, for contractual reasons Bourbon will remain in the short
    term on our website.

And another to add (normally we dont eat out quite this much, honest!)

Deanes at Queen's - saved about £6 (had small versions of main course) - scratched. No prob using it...

thanks a mill for the BTelegraph tip, will def look into it altho I have another month or so for free. Do you think they would negotiate based on it?
