Hi there everyone, I hope today finds you well and set to enjoy yet another glorious day.
The weathermen are saying that we have only had 3% of our average rainfall this month and I think it was about 48% for up in Scotland. No wonder I keep seeing people out watering their gardens.
Plans for today are to do the usual top to toe with the hoover (I had an outbreak of cat fleas many years ago and since then I have always hoovered every day) A good dust and wipe around, and I have another lovely pile of sewing starting to mount up and a curtain to finish re-sizing for the kitchen.
Lunch will be omlettes and baked potatoes and tea sausage and chips for the others and the last of the fresh crab and salad for me with hm coleslaw.
Oh has taken the kids to the park for an hour to let off some steam and then later we are off to buy a composter and some digital scales.
I am also reluctantly on a job hunt again, no hurry you understand but I need something more in keeping with the childrens school hours and a little nearer to home. There are some new staff and changes at work being implemented and they are probably going to be more bother than they are worth. I hate the early starts and to be honest I have done care work for 24 odd years now and feel ready to move on. I will also be looking in to doing a refresher course in to my secretarial skills in September as at 18 I qualified as a medical secretary and these days 9 - 5 (9.30 to 2.30 even better!) Mon to Fri is sounding ever so appealing. The trouble with carework is that it is becoming too paperwork orientated and the potential for getting in to bother is huge these days, we have just lost a member of staff due to an error on her part who will no longer be able to work in a care setting again. The whole business has made it very apparent that we are in a fairly precarious job really.
Anyway everyone I hope you all have a really good restful day,to all who need one today - you know who you are!:D
See you later,

oldMac - what are you trying to do to me??? I'm ashamed to admit that since my last post I've had a cuppa, a wee play with DS, read some of the paper and browsed the net.
However, really should have done some of what you did. You've shamed me.
I'm offski to try and do something.Small OPs are better than no OPs

Smokybabe: thats a long time commited to care work, what do you fancy doing? I'm a mediator and love every minute, I worked as a PA for ten years and decided to make a move, I work three days a week flexi time and its a family friendly organisation, I have never looked back.Who would like my last penny?0 -
Feeling pretty shattered after our break. Will post about it later. Had a great time and great weather:)
Have the inevitable pile of washing, well part of it, our boot won't open and our cases are stuck. So OH is at the garage getting it sorted.
Will also have to sort the mail out later - all looks rather boring:(
Having cheese omelette and potato wedges later
Weather is dull in Scotland today, and so cold - was so warm down south last week.An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:

If you ring the operator they can but a noise down the phone line, that might pay them back for waking you up! Let's hope they are being charged for the time:T

Hi again!
Re: Car Insurance. I dont know why its so expensive. Its a bloomin Citreon for goodness sakeHave our own drive, over 30, full no claims etc etc...oh well.
Have cooked the Spagbol sauce for later and have used a roasted veg sauce we had left over in the freezer. Added some basil, some chestnut mushrooms and a tin of chopped toms. Tastes lovely:D Desert will be a choice of strawberries and cream, cheesecake or profeteroiles (sp?)...also have loads of wine in which me folks bought back from Belgium a few weeks back. Looking forward to spending an easy evening with friends.
I have had to complain about 2 things with the cleaner this week:o ...Im 99.9% sure they were mistakes but they should be told all the same as I dont want it happening again. She uses a steamer for the cupboard fronts and they werent wiped down after making them very streaky. The other problem was under the right sofa there was a heap of dirt/dust etc that had been swept into one place and not hoovered up. This is her 8th clean with no problems, so am hoping that it will be sorted and not happen again.
Glorious day outside today and washing is blowing in the wind. have someone coming to collect our large old BBQ today from Freecycle as OH bought a gas BBQ the other day. We used £50 of Nectar points, so it cost just £25 and already had £50 off it;) ...the bottle he bought yesterday was £42 but he went for the bigger one with was triple the size of the other and less than twice the price...this will serve as double purpose as we also have a patio heater so the bottle can be used for both. Could do with a spare but dont have the funds to just buy another. Maybe one will turn up on Freecycle?
Have cut out 2 nice pictures and have put them in frames for the lounge. One is of DD and the other of me, mum and sister. I have never had a picture of mum and I up before. I look gastly white though, but its a nice picture.
Am currently watching Saturday Kitchen as OH & DD have gone to the shops to get a few last miunte items for tonight. DD is nervous about going this afternoon but she will be fine once she gets there.
Hopefully for lunch we are having bacon and fresh bread butties:D
Hugs

Good morning everyone,
First, can i thank everyone for their hugs and wishes - also to those who have sent me lovely caring PMs, it really is appriciated.
I think the problem when you are feeling down is that you start thinking of all the things that are wrong in your life, rather than what you have. I know im not depressed, but have been 're stocking' my life.
So, im going back to my positive thinking, which ive been lacking this last week - yes, i have health problems, but they are manageable and i can live with the problems i have. Im not in pain, and although there are lots of things im not allowed to do, there are more things that i can do!!!
I have some debts, and i dont earn very much - but im careful, earn extra wherever i can and look for bargains - so ok, we dont have much, but we do have. No holiday this year, but look at the wonderful holiday we had last year, those memories will last until we can go away again. I am buying my own house, and i run my own car (although the bank still have a share of both the house and the car!!!) I have my own business and im proud that i can hold my head up and say what ive done.
Im on my own, and really miss having adult company sometimes, but i also like my own company, and im happiest when im spending time with my own children. Im tall, slim (although its scary how much i weigh, another thing thats been getting me down) and my friends say im pretty, yet whenever i go out, i never attract any attention. I think ive now worked out why - when i last went out with my friends, i was introduced to some people, and i overheard one of the single guys we were out with telling these people that i was 'out of his league'. This gets me down, i cant help what i look like, or what im like. I am a good person, i will do anything for anyone, im friendly etc (i do have my faults like everone else tho) and i think whenever i meet a bloke, because of what im like they stick me up on some pedistal, and then when they realise that i am normal just like everyone else, it all goes wrong. But there is nothing i can do about that, i cant change the way i look, and i wouldnt want to change the way i am.
Sorry for the essay - hopefully its been quite carthartic (sp) for me - i need something to get me back on track!!!
Anyway, plans for today is stay home and relax, hoping that DD will do some baking with me later, my bedding is in the WM, so will hang that out in a bit, and i think a nice long bubble bath will go down well later as well. Should do some cleaning, but will see how i feel.
Thanks again everyone for listening, ((HUGS)) back to anyone who wants or needs one, and i hope everyone has a lovely day,
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -

(((hugs))) to everyone especially those who don't have the glorious weather we have here - the south coast seems to be getting most of it!
Have been to the Co-op for the big shop but -:j :j :j - only spent £50.44 which is absolutely brilliant! Looked through the freezer properly last night and am making a real effort to use the contents before buying more. Just need to pack the shopping away and off to the charity shops! Had a near-accident this morning while driving back from the Co-op; DH was driving and just innocently and correctly driving straight down a straight road past the entrance to the car park which was on our left; some miserable old boy was waiting to turn into the car park and couldn't wait so decided to try and cross our path - TOTALLY in the wrong - DH had to brake and the old s*d told him to get out of the way!    DH had to be physically restrained from hauling him through the open window and beating him up! It has taken him a while to calm down and he really wanted to find him and have a 'quiet word' but I said let's hope he's worried that you will. My DH is 6'4" so, hopefully, the old s*d had a scare. Thing is DH said he probably does it all the time and shouldn't get away with it.
Anyway, going now to put the shopping away - I hate that bit more than anything else!
Have a great morning and will look in again this afternoon - hopefully; family coming round so may not get a look in until this evening!
