Good Morning everyone from an aching me....
Just been for my first "proper" power walk in ages and boy can I feel it! Why is it that when I'm not feeling that great to start with I decide that torturing myself is a good idea:rolleyes:
Twink, your woodland walks with (((kyle))) and LO sound wonderful I love wild violas but don't see many round these parts.
LMS and Anniebooklover, better luck with the lie in tomorrowN9eave, fish for tea tonight then? Enjoy your trip
Anniestar and oldMcDonald, I hope the hayfever isn't to bad today. I don't consider myself a sufferer but once a year, when the chestnuts are in blosson I get a constant headache and tickle in my nose and throat. She says, looking at 2 huge flowering chestnuts as I type.
Good luck to Master Janb5 today, uselesswith£ enjoy your shopping trip with DD
Mrs Flittersnoop, oohhh go on, work OH hard today, it will balance the stress he had during the week;)
Charlies_mum, fingers crossed for the auction and Mrs Mix, I hope DD feels better soon
Loraine and Donna, I hope your busy days go well.
Welcome Tartan Mum
PP glad you are feeling better
tru, can you add me to your list please?
Oooh you are all posting too fast for me,I've re-done this 3 times and still cannot keep up! I hope everyone has a fantastic day
I'm waiting patiently for 2 things, one for the parcel of perishables the postie tried to deliver while I was out walking to get back to the sorting office, and while I'm doing that, I'm on parrot watch, nothing yet this morning but the seeds and water are out.If anyone wonders what I'm wittering on about see here
My plans for today are housework avoidance and more housework avoidance. I'm not in the mood today
bye for nowMy first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead

Good morning all,
hope everyone is well for the weekend, glad you're feeling better PenPin, and hugs to anyone who needs them for health or other reasons.... specially catowen and kyle. I had a ropey start to the day, 4.30 onwards but coming out of it now, thankfully, onwards and upwards folks, it's the only way to go!
Today will be - out for a cuppa with a dear friend (usual Saturday morning routine), housework in afternoon. Lodger's away for the weekend :j so I'll get a free run of the washing machine and line - so I can catch up. Will put some good music on - rev myself up with the Gypsy Kings - used to play this high volume to get DD2 out of bed - she was SO difficult to get going in the morning!!
Tomorrow both my dd's (they are 26 and 28) are coming over - a rare event as they don't live locally - so I'm really looking forward to seeing them and giving them great big hugs. Their father, my ex-OH is also coming, as the girls have taken on board something I said when we split up 3 years ago, which is that although the living arrangements have changed, we are still a family. I feel it's important we are able to be reasonably friendly and meet on special occasions e.g. birthdays so that the girls always feel able to rely on both parents and won't have any unease at wider family events, e.g. hatches, matches and despatches. I know this isn't possible for everyone, and my heart goes out to people who have a worse time of it and where conflict persists.
Anyway, I'll be excused cooking duties as the meet is to celebrate my recent birthday, so I'm looking forward to that!! DD1 is a fantastic cook and is taking over the kitchen - bliss:j
I made the Irish soda bread for my friends - they're having it for breakfast this morning with some crispy bacon - as I haven't made that recipe before (with some oatmeal in it), I'm looking forward to hearing how it tasted.
Have a great OS day.
Hugs

Morning :hello:
It's not like me to be posting (did I say "posting"? I meant "alive"!) at this hour on a Saturday, but I had to answer the door at 8am to the maintenance man who had come to fix the floor in our communal bike store and entrance hall. Basically, in our bin store we have a standpipe with a tap on it, and it had been broken (probably by one of the big metal communal bins being pushed into it by the bin men) and leaking for weeks before anybody spotted it. The water had leaked under the floor coverings all across the ground floor (luckily the ground floor is not residential) and the floor covering has been disintegrating from the damp. Anyway, I'm glad somebody is finally sorting it out (he fixed the pipe a while ago).
Will take the wally trolley out for a spin later, laden with my "recyclables", and head down to the bottle bank etc. and to the market for fruit and veggies. Then I'll tackle some of my to do list, which I might post on here later to give myself a kick up the bum
oldMcDonald - sorry you're suffering with the hayfever, the season has definitely started as I've started sneezing this week too
Am just watching the OS cleaning feature on BBC1
Right, off to put the kettle on...

Morning all, bit bleary eyed today, some pillock rang me at two this morning (dunno who) anyway they have left my phone blocked.
Good day yesterday, roped a mate into removing the decking so I have a veg patch, now I feel guilty cos it was frog haven under the planks. Anyway I left a few planks down for them overnight and said friend is coming back today to make a new home with the wood that isnt rotten.
I ordered a kiwi fruit plant online yesterday so cant wait for that to come, doubt I'll have fruit off it this year though, I had already bought one but apperntly you need a male and female and I wouldnt know the difference so I have ordered a self pollinating one.
Well the sun is shining and Charlie pug is barking at the flying birds, so I'm off to get a coffee and try and shut him up.
Love and hugs to all those who need one.Who would like my last penny?0 -

Good Morning All
n9eav have a great day fishing!
amie I like your idea of getting your guests to buy themselves ice-creams out on the walk. Thats something I would do! :rotfl:
welcome tartan mum
anniebooklover same here, I was hoping for a lie in today, but just couldn't do it! Plus Ive been clock watching again since 4.05am. So another sleepless (ish) night for me!
groatie queen Your method ref the girls & exOH being in the same room, is wonderfull, myself & my ex (kids dad) can stomach things like this. We talk, but like you I want the kids to know they can rely on us! It doesnt always work like that though, as dad does let them down occasionly.
catowen hope your feeling a little brighter today. (((hugs)))
Well - Ive got lots to do, but not sure where to start. Want to try & get rid of this tired headache! Plus back slightly aching, so any bending is out of the equation.
WM on, and a load on the line allready!
Got plenty of ironing to do and take photo's of the clothes I need to list on ebay
Aswell as housework in between
I said something very nasty to my ex last night ref his dad. Which is so out of character for me to say those things. We all know the story with my ex, visiting my dad, & tells me about it to wind me up! Other than that when we split 3yrs ago, my family sided with him, and Im in the process of trying to build relations again with dad. Well, my exFIL has been very ill, due to these tuma's, cancer & treatment, he getting worse by the day! Anyway, I said to my ex, "you'll be fatherless soon so then you'll know what its like to not have your dad around". I could have bit my own tongue out! I love his dad to bits and wouldnt wish this upon anybody! I feel crap now!
Right best make a move
Catch you later

hugs to all who feel down or are unwell0 -
crazychik ((((hugs)))) don't feel too guilty. We all say and do things we regret when we are stressed or under pressure. I think the fact that your ExFIL is so ill is probably preying on your mind and that's why the comment sprang to mind.
If you apologised for saying it then there isn't much more you can do. Don't beat yourself up about it. (I know that's easier said than done.) xx"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

mrs_mix - how are you today?
Welcome tartan_mum
I find that if I get out of a sleep time routine, I have to make myself stay up late, keep working (well playing) on the PC as if I sit on the settee at night watching TV I am guaranteed to fall asleep.
Three (black) coffee's later, loo cleaned, going to dive in the shower while DH washes the caravan ready for a weekend out next weekend, first one this year we are late we usually have a weekend in February. Think I may get my cross-stich out later.
((((((hugs))))))))) as needed.

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
Since my last post I have made a loaf of bread, done a washload and got it out on the line, swish and swiped the bathroom, got breakfast for 7 and fed the dog. Am now wasting more time on the net
anniestar - Thanks for letting me know about ASDA hayfever tablets being cheaper, fantastic:T
Penny-Pincher - £688 for car insurance:eek: We pay £560 to insurure a 15 seat mini-bus, fully-comp, for two drivers! Definitely go elsewhere!!!
Tartan Mum - Hello and welcome to the thread :hello:
Mel123 - I hate it when the phone rings in the middle of the night, everything goes through your mind, doesn't it? Horrid way to be woken. What does it mean to have your phone 'blocked'? Have they not put the phone down properly or something? (sorry if this is a daft question, but I've ot heard that before)
crazychik - anniebooklover is right, it's easy to say bad things about others when under stress - try not to feel too bad
Off to nose around elsewhere on the site whilst the washing mashine spins, then to put out another load
Again, enjoy today - looks like its going to be lovely(well it is here on the south coast, anyway!!)0
