But are they letting you cancel without penalty? A number of people i know have been told they can cancel but would have to pay balance outstanding. They have all escalated their complaints to a higher level, and await a decision.

I had to phone back T Mobile, then they said there were no notes on my account to this effect. They then said that only the Customer Relations could authorise a free cancellation & that I should write to:
T Mobile Customer Relations, Doxford Contact Centre
6 Camberwell Way, Doxford Technology Park
    Doxford, Sunderland
    Tyne and Wear, SR3 3XN
I also phoned Consumer Advice (seems to be a filtering dept before reaching Trading Standards) - they said write the complaint, sent it Recorded Delivery & give T Mobile 14 days to respond. If I don't get a satisifactory response, then I should report them to CISAS, their regulatory body. http://www.cisas.org.uk/ CISAS give out different advice, so I'm sure who is right. Trading Standards in my area have responded to my email, so I will also get advice from them as well. They have been excellent in the past. Will keep you guys posted. I sent the complaint yesterday.
  • just spoken to them and they are saying we cant cancel because the numbers are access numbers and they just realised it and are now going to charge for them

i said that they are putting the prices up and that i can cancel as per the contract and thy said no i would have to pay a cancellation price

slightly annoyed as they seemed like they were covering their backs and were telling me that the rates have changed now and its still cost effective

i laughed and said well its not free so its not that cost effective.

has anyone cancelled or had some joy in this all :D

:money: savers to the rescue please :p:p

I emailed the T-mobile customer service team and here is the reply i got:

Thanks for contacting me about the change in call prices to 07744 and 07755 numbers.

I'm sorry to hear that you're unhappy with the new price of these calls and I can understand that this is frustrating for you.

From 1 June 2007 calls to any existing 07744 and 07755 numbers will be charged at 12p a minute (inc. VAT) and will not be included in your T-Mobile allowance.

Any new numbers added to these number ranges from 1 June 2007 will be charged between 3p and 15p a minute (inc. VAT) depending on the number range dialled. These charges will again not be included in your T-Mobile allowance.

We have recently become aware that numbers starting 07744 and 07755 are being used to host access numbers operated by other service providers. As such these calls are chargeable and fall outside of your allowance and free minutes. This is stated in the Non standard Charges in the ?What it costs? document that you agreed to on taking out your contract.

Thanks again for contacting me and I hope this helps you to understand why the prices have changed.

If you have any more questions, please visit our help and advice section by clicking here or reply to this email.

    Kind regards

Has anyone been successful in cancelling their contract?

    E&W = Evenings and Weekends.

The 07730 xxx xxx gateway number which is on O2 but can be used by anyone with X-Net minutes, can be found at https://www.pre-dial.com , then click on Free Destination List, and scroll down.

According to ofcom (click on bullet d)
    http://www.ofcom.org.uk/telecoms/ioi/numbers/numbers_administered/
077 numbers are still classified as 'Mobile Services' to "Inquam Telecom (Holdings) Limited" just like Orange, O2, TMobile, etc.

Here are a few other things I found out from other forum websites
    http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=363745&page=3
this person is a contractor for YourCall "we have negotiated a deal with T-mobile so you can now call the 07744 numbers on Orange and T-mobile still in ya bundled minutes. " - In the past I have also see this plastered all over YourCall website.

    http://forum.niftylist.co.uk/index.php?topic=2625.0
"T-mobile re allowed this 07744 from 27/06/06 last year.its is going to be less than a year again plans to close that.
    Just playing with customers.....
    1) Firstly they used to allow 07744 numbers
    2) Closed around aug 2005 ,i mean started charging
    3) Re-open this 07744 from 27/01/06
    4) now again ....."

On this forum look at pg4 - there is an "alternative dispute resolution scheme"

Trading Standards in Worcester are looking into this for me. I will also supply them with this info. Good luck everyone

How did u manage to get them to give you double minutes as a goodwil gesture?

If you could advice us, I am sure many would benefit if not cancel their contracts!
