Claiming Charges from Argos Card

Ladies and Gentlemen, Agros paid to the tune of £275!!! Yay! I will admit to being woried over the court thing (I claimed via MCOL, they entered a defence and then caved in)
Off to put my claims or TSB in now.
Martin. I love you :money::money: You rock. Truely, I'm off to hassle the Abbey now for my mortgage fees back after watching you on the t.v last night.I am one of the 63336.'It is better to have lived one day as a tiger than a thousand years as a sheep.'

Hi, Just seen this post. Well done on getting your charges back with Argos:D
I got mine back about the same time as you. I am also in the middle of claiming unrequested ppi from them...did you get your ppi back? It was my first claim so I was a bit nervous. Keep us posted on how you get on with the dreaded TSB, they are on my list too.:)0 -
About 3 years or so ago I gained a argos store card. I missed a few payments so the account got sent onto Moorcroft debt recovery. Over the last few years I have been making regular payments of various amounts.
However I have received news from moorcroft that apparently i have not made a payment since the middle of last year. However I have been making regular payments all the way through with statements to proove it. The problem was that I was paying the original argos account, according to argos this should not matter as it would eventually filter through to moorcroft anyway.
I have made some calculations and I have made somewhere in the region of £1000 worth of repayments, even though the original debt was £500. Can I claim back any over payments and any interest charged for payments not made even though they were.
Any advice would be much appreciated as moorcroft are useless and cannot help me.

If you think you have paid in full at this point stop sending payments and insist that Argos staff investigate the account fully. Put absolutely everything in writing to Argos and deal with them direct. Moorcroft are incompetent, its that simple, so dont waste your blood pressure on them.
Send Argos proof of the original balance owed and all payments made against it, copies - never originals - and ask them to recalculate the account.
I would strongly advise to insist that they deal with moorcroft and not yourself. It is their account and they should take ultimate responsibility for the 'filtering' of any payments. If the debt is paid then it is their responsibility to ensure your account is updated accordingly.
The upshot 'should' be that any overpayments and interest are automatically refunded but I would get them moving on recalculating the account first and see what happens before worrying about it

I had an argos store card at my previous address which i think i used to spread the cost of a tv or something i dont remember. Anyway only used it briefly then put it away and forgot about it, probably cut it up. Moved house and 2 years later went to remortgage and a issue with my credit rating flashed up on their screen. Didnt prevent me getting the mortgage but was told i had defaulted on a credit card about a year previously. So i obtained my credit report found the name of the company who were dealing with the debt and evetually tracked it down to being an argos card that was the problem. After some more digging i found that i had apparently signed up to some insurance when i bought the item and this was added to the card every 3 yrs
Despite me having my mail redirected for 6 months after moving i was never contacted about this or about my non payment. I settled the debt with the company (it was about £170 by then, who knows what the original amount was) thinking that would clear my record but of course it doesnt and is still on there and occasionally prevents me getting credit which is a pain when im wanting to transfer my loan balance or mortgage to a lower rate. So can i reclaim this and/or clear my record or do i just have to wait it out till it clears automatically?? 0 -

Payments

What do the two above in bold refer to charges wise?
Fin Chg = interest?
Other DB = i can claim all of
