Hi everyone, Just wondering if anyone is claiming against Argos at present. Im reclaiming £202.50. I was offered £80.00 first then I sent letter before action. I then received a letter yesterday offering me £100. Im not sure whether to accept this offer or not. I have 14 days to respond. Any advice greatly appreciated as this is my 1st claim so im very new to it all. Many Thanks, 76Bramble.0

I am currently claiming £264 from Argos + £30 MCOL fee. I wrote to them asking for charges back, sent first letter then letter before action, they replied offering me £55 I said thanks but no thanks so I filed my claim against them on 8th June, no acknowledgement or another offer yet but I shall keep you posted

Hi Kez, Well done with your claim with Argos:j I have got N1 from court finally and I was just wondering what did you put in POC for Argos store card? I am totally panicking in case it gets struck out. It is my first claim, so I am still just learning. Thanks Kelly

yes, its the same process as credit cards.0 -
yes, its the same process as credit cards.
thanks Techspec, I asked for my past statements and they sent me copies of screen prints showing my statement history. Its difficult to understand the abbreviations, I have rung and asked and was given an answer by someone who didnt sound too interested.
Do I need to rewrite and ask for the actual statements? Or do i go off what this person told me?
If theres any Argos claimers around, the abreviations are FIN CHGS and the one I'm really interested in is OTHER DB. The account has been closed for 3 years by the way.
Can anyone help me? Please????

I dont know the codes for argos, but in the meantime, ask for all of your charges back for the last six years. You do not have to provide charge details, as thats their repsonsibilty. At least the 8 weeks they have to reply, will have then begun.
Carry on trying to work out your charges yourself, but if all else fails, you can go via the financial ombudsman without actually knowing what the charges are.
Being a closed account has no bearing on the claim.0 -
Right! thanks for the advice! I'll ring them and tell them I want that and send them a letter too. (Signed for delivery of course!) Do I have to send them ANOTHER £10 cheque for the charges???
I'm going ahead with reclaiming my credit card charges and ppi, thats easy enough, this one's done my head in! They're not very helpful at Argos.......I am one of the 63336.'It is better to have lived one day as a tiger than a thousand years as a sheep.'
