Cheap Parcel Delivery - official discussion

Whats the best way to send a cricket bat please. Needs to be insured up to £360. Last time royal mail charged over £20 but that was guaranteed next day del.
Any advice please. I do need a speedy service. Thanks

Guys, can anybody find me a service (UK to USA) thats £30 or under for a 2.5 kg parcel 30x30x40?

myHermes - More of a warning than a plea for some sanity, booked a collection from a chap in Manchester for a parcel to be collected 10th July.

A month later, no collection, untold messages into their customer support.

myHermes Customer services is a waste of time, I keep being told "we'll respond in 24 hours but they never do.

They have my money and I can't get my parcel delivered. The service I am experiencing and customer support is absolutely dreadful and it becomes quite stressful, I have no idea what is going on.

myHermes ... PLEASE - I just want my parcel collected and delivered or give me my money back.

Sigh........

Contact them via Facebook, that seems to get results.

Might send via hermes again as the lady who picked up my other delivery was very nice to look at and the buyer said it arrived ok (although it said left at secure location).

However I will offer premium delivery alongside it, I wont force hermes on buyers.

I have been waiting for a car part for the last 2 days now which is desperately needed and should be getting delivered by Parcelforce. It was sent Express 24 last friday.

I checked the tracker over the weekend and it was sent to the wrong depot early saturday morning. When they realised the mistake, it was put on the back of the lorry to go back to the Hub in Coventry on monday evening.

So when it didn't arrive on the monday i rang their customer service, who first told me that if its sent friday by Express 24 it'll arrive tuesday. When i told him he was wrong he decided to hang up on me. So i rang back and spoke to someone else, first thing i asked was, when should something arrive if sent by Express 24 on a friday. The reply, "Monday"...... I explained that i really needed the parcel so she said she would get the depot to contact me. Unsurprisingly they never did!

So along comes Tuesday(Today) and according to the tracker, the parcel is still at the national hub in Coventry.... Obviously by now it should have left the national hub, arrived at the regional depot and been sent out for delivery. So i rang customer service once more.....again he tried to fob me off saying that this is normal and it would be sent out tomorrow. After explaining to him why he was wrong and describing how 24 hr distribution should work he came out with the cracker, "Well Coventry is in the north so it takes awhile for it to get there".....Oh dear, i hope not everyone who works for Parcelforce has been using the same map as this guy.

I wouldn't usually have been that bothered by their inability to deliver on time, but i need the part for my car urgently, and i have plans which require use of my car over the next 3 days. I guess my plans will have to be changed because Parcelforce don't understand what a 24hr delivery service is.

So it looks like Parcelforces Express 24 service is more like Not-So-Express 144. I for one will avoid them at all costs in future.

Hi I'm a aspiring artist and just recently been asked to produce prints of my originals. I've mounted and framed them, the frame has glass in. they are 20" x 16" and are approximately 2.5kg. I've been looking on line for a postal service to deliver these for me but I'm told that because they art art work and the frames have glass they can't be sent. Please help - any advice would be gratefully appreciated. I can't get frames with plastic glass at the size I want.
