Hello flyfriends
After 2 full days work my back was mega achey so evening spent on sofa under blanket. Lie in till 11 this morning also helped. When I was mopping the shop floor last night it took me between 5 & 10 seconds to fully straighten up each time after bending to mop. Is this normal at 45?:o
LW I will chuck spoons in your direction whenever I think of you - which is lots :smileyhea Please relax and recover as necessary, there really is nothing that either can't wait or Mr LW can do. Hi all
Well, I'm still breathing.....:D Only decluttering today will be aches in my bones (hopefully). I'm afraid I had to disturb Mr LW at 02:00 to pour me some morphine.:( Once he'd done so, it was all I could do to raise the little container as far as my mouth. No matter - this too will pass.;)Honey_Bear wrote: »I've finally worked out the loo roll mystery. I'd been avoiding Nightmare Lodger (on account of the slaps she might have received if I'd had to have a conversation with her) and noticed she was v. snuffley. I asked her if she had a cold, and her response?
'I only sneeze in very cold weather, which obviously this isn't' [we'd had -2, but hey ho, what's that to an American?] and when I come across mould. I've been photocopying old research papers.' I just get tired of the constant need for drama. She had a cold, and was too mean to buy a box of tissues, End Of. Mystery solved, and as soon as I can clean without getting tangled up in her decluttered hair I can forget her, but I thought everyone who offered a possible explanation deserved to know how one person can get through two loo rolls between 10.00 pm and 8.00 am. It probably looked very pretty sitting on her desk.skint_breeder_5 wrote: »Hug very much appreciated....flybaby may still have to spend time in SCBU after I have recovered enough to come home, so I may have to spend a lot of time travelling backwards and forwards to see her... .only thing I can think of to help is when the list comes round mid Jan that there is something in level 1 everyday that is suitable for post-surgery that will stop the Skint Ritz turning back into the Skint PitzI was a bit ignorant with DS I managed to open up one side of my scar by feeding the WM because I thought I could "do it" too soon
Posi-vibes for Mumto5 and Valli.:o
Mr LW has instructed me to leave cooking dins til he's home to assist, as rice is on the menu tonight, and I'm not safe with pots/kettles of boiling water.:A:A:A
Right' I'm going to refill my coffee mug (white china with a blue Chinese Dragon on, if anyone's interested):D and look at my emails.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
done a bit - now lurking with a cuppa -
btw - important piece of info for anyone in possession of a bright green steam mop that gets advertised on late night telly:eek::eek::eek:
if your mop stops pumping, it could be that it is clogged with limescale.
I rang the helpline - they told me to fill the reservoir with half white vinegar and half watper and switch it on for 30 seconds - to see if it would start pumping - if it did then to force it through the steamer then leave remainder in the tank for 24 hours before emptying.
This didn't help until I boiled it in the kettle, allowed it to cool for a few minutes, then poured back into the reservoir and switched it on.:D:D:D Bingo it worked - so I forced the whole lot through, the floor looks lovely now, and I have now got another vinegar batch soaking for the recommended 24 hours.
so one quick phone call, and two appliances de-scaled :j:j:j
I know the water in my area is hard, but this takes the biscuit - once it stops blowing a gale going to go out to the shed and see if I can rescue the original one DD1 killed when she poured dilute Fl@sh in it:eek:The cold never bothered me anyway0 -
I'll find some little salt-spoon sized spoons, specially for Flybaby.;) If I might suggest, if you don't already have one, get a trolley with wheels for taking stuff from one room to another. And possibly a reachy-grabby thing as used by those of us with creaky knees to pick things up off the floor (I'm sure you get what I mean - can't think of the proper name); if you MUST do it yourself, you can feed the WM one item at a time with one of those, without bending at funny angles.;)
Thanks, I don't have either of those items, so I will keep my eyes open on eb@y and freecycle in the next few weeks
Last time I had DD1 at home, and DD2 didn't have such an active social life, so they pitched in...but this time round I can only guarantee DD3 being here every day, so these gadgets might be worth their weight in gold :T:T:T
off I go to start stalking on eb@yThe cold never bothered me anyway0 -

I'm thinking - scenario - DD has 10 mins before leaving to meet her pals - she thinks "what can I do in 10 mins to take the pressure off Mum?" style of thing.;););)
One of Mr LW's favourite sayings is the "6 P's" - Prior Preparation Prevents P*$$-Poor Performance.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
uuugh its horrible out there. Its blowing a gale, raining, very cold and not nice.
Am just decluttering a cuppa and ham salad roll for lunch before tackling something upstairs. Will hoover landing and kids rooms then head up to ours as I need to find something to wear tonight. Our room was never finished so for the last x amount of years (more than I care to count) clothes have been either on rails, in boxes under the bed or in the heap on the spare bed in our room. A trip to both Next shops in town didnt unearth anything inspiring so I will have a job on my hands.
Hopefully will pop in laterMortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0 -
And so the weekend begins:T DD is going to DSD's after school.
BT are doing my head in before it starts!! Had a text yesterday saying that it would be delivered on 21 dec...good, then today I had an email today saying it would be 21 Jan....not good...go onto the website and password not recognised, neither is the email address they gave me...NO, cause it's not set up yet!!! ggrrrrrr.....phone them and it's a 10 minute cue that I'll get charged for!!!
and breathe...........
