Easyjet Rip Off Merchants

Booked a flight through major comparisson site last night that took me to Easyjet to pay for the flight. Imagine my horror when after paying I saw my return flight was 22nd July 2013 instead off 22nd August 2013, the month had inexplicably changed.

Telephoned Easyjet within 2 minutes where I was informed it would cost me £60.00( £30.00 per person) and the extra fair to book the date I wanted, or £60.00 just to cancel. I explained that i was not changing the date, it was the wrong month, it had changed during redirection and I only noticed after final payment ?.Does not matter I was told we will refund you minus £60.00.I was also told I was lucky it was not costing me more.

Emailed Easyjet Customer Services to complain, the reply I got was we are keeping your £60.00 regardless and hope this experience does not stop you or your family flying with Easyjet again.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I understand charging people changing flights hours, days, weeks, months later, but screwing me over for £60.00 for a website error which was exactly a month out on booking, that they were informed about within 2 minutes. When I had previously flew with them every year is very poor business in my opinion.

Beware and check your dates when being redirected to finalise payment for flights.I only noticed after paying because i used a comparison site that took me straight to the final payment page:mad:

I hope they enjoy my £60.00,because they wont get another penny from my family or me ever again, rip off merchants.

Very poor buisness.

  • Do you have screen prints or print outs to prove your side?
If so complain again - to the point of taking them to the small claims court.
You do have to be sure of course who made the error - you the company selling the holiday or Easyjet. Good luck.

I only noticed after final payment ?

So you concede it was your mistake? On the final page it would have had all the details on dates when you clicked confirm.

Sorry, but I think you are at fault here, not easyjet.

So there is no rip off. It wouldn't have 'just changed'. What probably happened is that the drop down box for the month was still in focus and you changed it.
    Your fault for not checking.

    As usual, no rip off.

I made a similar mistake with Flybe the other day.

Completely my fault - my son's not going on holiday now, but I'm going twice as I keyed my name twice and confirmed things.

The good news ... Flybe don't charge for amending that (although they do for most other things).

See the 1st Law is proven again - rip off in title = no rip off.

As for OP why are they complaining about easyJet when most of the work was done by the "major comparisson site"?

Adding to everyone else saying it's 100% the OP's fault, the comparison site you were redirected from has nothing to do with Easyjet.

Even on the off chance it was randomly changed by the computer and not you accidently clicking something, the comparison site sending Easyjet the wrong details wouldn't give you any more rights to get it fixed for free than you have now. It has nothing to do with Easyjet and you confirmed the dates were correct.

I can understand overlooking the date - I've done the same - but I'm amazed you didn't notice the drop in price before paying, which should have set off alarm bells!
