    Thats impressive Paul.
Although as they've not sent me details, and I don't know what my usage is, I'm not sure what I'd put in the spreadsheet.

I use their online billing where you can view all your itemised usage for previous months, including all GPRS sessions. I then rounded these up to ensure it took into account the 5KB minimum charge.

This allowed me to work out the revised cost and compare it against the current (inclusive) cost, showing that both the bill and 'additional' usage increase by over 10%.
  • Do you have a Vodafone Extras pack? The VF extras pack until 1 June have allowed some of your text allowance to be used for data.....

    Just a thought

If you check the itemised usage it should be show as 'included in bundle'

Forget Vodafone and the oher expensive networks. I use T-Mobile PAYG and they do Web and Walk unlimited internet for £1 flat rate each day you use it. Don't use it, don't pay. They also do it for contracts for around £10 a month I believe. I use a PDA phone so get proper webpages coming up. I used to be on a Vodafone contract and switched for the internet access.

    I tried it.
    They really are idiots.
They won't let me register my chosen username because someone else has it - that someone else is me about 3 years ago when I was a customer pre-Orange. Now they want to send me a text to the phone that I cancelled, to prove I am who I say I am.

I tried again, new username, new password, third time lucky on getting a username that wasn't taken....and
"We are currently unable to process your request as we are experiencing technical difficulties - please try again later or contact either by email, or by dialling 191 from your Vodafone phone."

    I'll try again later I think :(

Vodafone did something similar when they changed their terms about multimedia messages. You used to be able to send a message and it came out of your text bundle, so if you had 200 regular texts for free and you sent a multimedia message then it would deduct 3 messages (or whatever the size of the message related to) from your bundle. i dont send a lot of multimedia messages but really like having the option to do it - its nice to be able to send a photo every so often. But they changed it so it is no longer included in your text bundle and they charge 35p + vat. I asked if there was ANY way of getting multimedia messages included in my bundle and they said there wasnt - no matter what contract I was on. I was really annoyed as I chose my tarif very carefully to tie in exactly with what i needed. I think they should continue to honour your contract until the end of its term. I take it there is nothing we can do about this? I was about to renew but am starting to think I'd be better off moving.

Reading through this thead I've come to one overwhelming conclusion - I'M SO HAPPY I'M NOT ON VODAFONE:j
I consider myself to be a light user of mobile internet - a bit of browsing, some videos, steaming TV or radio etc but I've clocked up 234MB in the last 26 days - if I were on vodaphone I'd be worried - if I was on any PAYG contract I'd be stupid but as it is I get a 1GB allowance from t-mobile for £7.50/month so I've got to find someway to use up 750MB in the next few days or it's going to go to waste:eek: Hey! if I could give it away to you voda boys I would - LOL - :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

    f******* bragging f****** tmobile users!

I'm sersiously considering switching to them when my contract is up for renewal. I like their packages and their signal has much improved in the last 4-5 years around the south west.

Although a friend of mine who slated o2 the whole time he was with them 2-3 years ago has gone back to them recently (it was cheap) and can't praise the service enough.
Even Virgin mobile, which was originally terrible here, has improved to the point where it even works in places that Virgin themselves say is a total blackspot with no chance of signal. In particular, in Wick, just outside Bristol.. its better than Orange. Oddly enough Orange's website says their phone works with good coverage in Wick, but when you phone up to complain they tell you they know that its a blackspot and it doesn't work. Three guesses why I left them.

Seems like all the others have improved and Vodafone don't have the edge they once had.

where are you going on holiday? UK or abroad?

    it will be incredibly slow

I would have thought it would be cheaper and easier to go to the nearest internet cafe

Forget speed, if it is abroad, on any network without a special roaming package, we are probably looking at 3 or 4 figure sums with pictures and joke emails.

I'm lucky that my 18 month Vodafone contract expires in 2 weeks!! :T I will be letting them know why I'm quitting too!

I was a bit annoyed when MMS were excluded from my "free" text, mms and web pac. But I was getting hacked off at all the things I couldn't have, like Passport as I was on old tarriff - £15 for 100 mins (rolling) + 50 sms or MMS web equivelent.

I was looking at T-mobile but thought of 3.

For £15 I can get a 600sms and 75mins and for an extra £5 I can add UNLIMITED * internet access including MSN messenger and Skype access, something that Vodafone is CHARGING for.

Other cheap tarrifs include £15 for 500 mins or their Student Promotion for everyone - £20 for 100mins and 1000sms.

Plus! If you travel to some other countries where 3 is, you can call and receive calls from the uk and not pay any extra, just your normal minutes.

The only downside I see their limited range of handsets. They do have the one I'm most interested, a Sony-Ericsson K800i but I am tempted a bit by something a bit more easier to surf the web on. However I've loved my Sony's and the battery life on them is fantastic.

Anyone have any 3 horror stories before I cross over?

    * Subject to the usual fair use policy, MSN messenger capped at 10,000 messenges a month.
