Would you mind posting a link to show people please bhg:)

Of course :D at the bottom of the forum there are 3 drop down boxes to the left hand side - change the 'Sorted By' box to say 'Thread Start Time' (it should be 'Last Post Time' at the minute) click on 'Show Threads' and you're done! Then you can bookmark that link and use that one for the forum instead of the default!

Thanks bhg - im sure this will help loads of us out:beer:

(i never usually have the need for sorting the boards as i play by end date ie-i type in search E: 03/12 for example it then takes me to a point in the board where as long as i bookmark it each day it takes me to 04/05/06 etc. but with these advents its not as simple as that. but im gonna stick at doing probably 150-200 MAXIMUM A day, and the same ones that way i dont need to go searching, and if i dont win out of 200 times 24 days = 4800 chances then well somethings wrong!

Thanks bhg for anyone still confused heres the sorted version (as of 8pm 02nd dec)

I think the problem is that what ever order you have the threads in, it doesn't negate the problems that will occur later in the month when there may be several pages to a thread because of unneeded bumps and you need to check the ones that have been posted since you last looked in case there's some important info there.

  • I've only just realised that people's questions about comps go unanswered for a long time because lots of people comp via the 'Newest Thread' option, and so don't see questions being asked ...

Anyway, each to their own 'n all that.
I've set up bookmarks, but have bookmarked the actual site hosting the comp, so I don't need to refer back to MSE at all unless there's a question I don't know the answer to, in which case it's easy to search for it.
I don't see much point in bumping the prize for that day as it's easy to see what the prize is on the advent itself.

also if you look at the top bar (just below New Thread) you will see arrows beside Title/Newest Thread/Newest Post/Replies/Views, you can click the arrow beside Newest Thread when you're comping and just refresh, or move backwards/forwards from wherever you are and you won't get distracted by bumps :T
