I see that there is some difference between windscreen and non-windscreen routes. I do not find your post clear in this regard - is there really a difference?

Yes. In the sticky thread I just created, I linked 'POFA 2012 Schedule 4' if you want to look and see the difference. In that section of the law, Paragraph 8 talks about a NTK which follows a windscreen ticket. Paragraph 9 talks about a postal NTK (PCN, charge notice or whatever drivel they call it).

Am I reading correctly that the advice is now not to ignore the letters and to challenge in writing as the Keeper once the NTK arrives?

Yes, has been the case all year for me. The whole forum has been posting as such for at least six months so this is really nothing new.

Is the "Charge Notice" posted above the same as a NTK?

Yes I cover that in the sticky thread. 'Charge Notice' is an example I use when I describe NTKs and tell people to 'wait!!!'.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Why did you bother posting this? Have you nothing better to do? I suggest you do not reply to threads without offering some information, as otherwise it makes you look rather silly.

    Thanks,
    Matt.

Yes, I have actually. Helping people who can help themselves.

Jeez man, your thread has been around for almost 12 months, what have you been doing in that time to be asking the basic questions you are posing here?

I tell you what I've been doing in that time - reading EVERY thread ever written here in that time, learning, understanding and getting to grips with all this stuff - and I've never, ever had a PCN - and all so that I can help advise the likes of you! You've got the problem and seemingly want to engage the limited resource on here in academic debate that could so easily be discovered by you by UTFSE - just as Stroma directed you!
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

    Matt

We are limited in numbers and can only really help those who help themselves, one of the regulars on here did a quick survey on threads being answered and new ones put on here, in one week there was 182, now as there is only about 10-20 of us posting on here regularly can you not see we are stretched ?

I did my own research, I spent a weekend away a month or so ago, when I came back there was 5 pages of threads in bold which means I ain't read them. I only reply to threads in page 1 only, I got almost 5000 posts in less than 12 months, I post only on this forum. Do you see how busy that means we are here?
When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

When I went away and also suffered a close bereavement in August, I read 18 pages of bold unread threads and replied to the lot, catching up over a period of two weeks to make sure nowt was missed. And we do all this for nothing!

Umkomaas and Stroma are both stars here; we all work hard to make sure no-one pays nor misunderstands the advice, and we help with court defences too even though none of us have been taken to court by a PPC. It's because we detest the whole scam of fake PCNs soooo much, especially the fat cat companies.

    :)

  • I did type a meaningful response - which was more about what others may get from this thread - which I had hoped may hold some value.

However I do not have time to argue with you about such benefits. As as I do not wish to participate any further I have removed my posts.

Love and Kisses to you all.

What a waste of time and effort spent trying to help this OP who has now deleted all his posts and made the whole thread meaningless - Perhaps Crabman should delete this thread?

To the OP TPS are one of the smaller PPC's and the chances are they will not take you to court.
