Hiya Lucy,Glad you're feeling better today. You deserve to spend the payrise on a break away, it sounds like you need it.I already have my holiday booked but I keep getting emails through from Crystal Holidays as I seem to have signed up to their newsletter at some point, and they have been giving details of holidays at fab prices, especially in Italy and Austria in the lakes and mountains. If I hadn't already booked a holiday I'd have been sorely tempted with the offers I saw the other day, might be worth you looking? Can't remember the website but try http://www.crystallakes.co.uk/ Re the shoes- I needed a dressy pair for upcoming weddings but didn't want to shell out a lot. Then I popped in a charity shop on Saturday and sound a gorgeous pair in my size for just £1.50. I was well chuffed! Maybe have a look in your local charities too?Sarah x

    Morning all.

We shoe situation solved. My Mum got me 2 pairs in the sale for £17 yesterday. She doesn't want the money back, but I am going to try and get her to take it once I've been paid.

But I had a nice surprise this morning, I gave one of the girls I work with some of my old clothes and she gave me £20 for them this morning :D Which is really nice of her as I wasn't expecting anything.

Which means I now have £20 in my purse and £35 in my bank account and just over a week until payday :T which means I shouldn't have a problem staying in credit :j which would be for the first time in years. Just need to stick with it now and not spend it on random stuff.

Thanks Sarah I'll have a look at the link and see what they have got. I need somewhere that's cheap once I get there. Still need to discuss it with OH and see if he would want to go with me. But as he's not been anywhere in ages I wouldn't have thought he'd be to hard to convince. I'll let you know how I get on.

Right I need to get something to go with lunch today and I have 2 more Amazon parcels to post, so I am going to try and keep it low today.

    Have fun x

    Hi Lucy,
Just back from hols and still to update on xmas challenge but managed to underspend by a massive amount while away. Food and drink were very cheap in Rhodes and even organised trips didn't make a huge dent in the budget. It's probably the first time I've gone away without spending entire amount left in bank and your xmas challenge was a great inspiration.
Sadly went shopping without a list last night and now have rolls for lunch but nothing to put in them - that'll teach me!

Under spending is good! I love holidays like that, although I seem to have very few of them. I have to shop with a list, otherwise I forget things. And at the moment I am forgetting everything! Keep up the good work and the debt will come down.

I really look forward to payday now as I can work out what is going to be paid off my debt and work out all my new totals.

Now go find something to put in your rolls!! ;)

    Morning all.

Well it's fnially friday and what a long week it's been. I was chatting to my boyfriend last night and he has had his LBM :T So we are going to have a look through ways he can cut back. He doesn't want to tell me figures (which is fair enough as we have only been together 4 months) but I am going to do all I can to help him.

But I didn't lose any weight last night, although I didn't put any on either so it could have been worse. Just need to be really good again this week and hope that it comes off.

But going for a NSD today and doing loads of research for OH as I have a feeling he may have been mis-sold his loan. But we shall see.

    Have a good day x

  • Morning Lucy

I've just read your above post and sighed "awwww".

I checked the date of your first post which was April so reckon you'd only been with him a short time and I bet my last fiver that you spent the first few weeks of the relationship spending left, right and centre.

I was thinking that you must be giving out a positive vibe to your boyfriend and leading the way on how to control spending on a day-to-day basis. He's probably looked at you and thought "blimey, things need to change - I need to do this too" - good on you girl!

That and he was really excited about getting his bank charges back and they have basically paid off his OD and the thrown a lump at his loan. Not sure if they can do this, but I'm trying to find out.

I've started a thread fro him, he doesn't have access to the net, so this is going to be my part. But he need teaching how to do silly things like make a shopping list before he does and take a packed lunch with his, last night he though he must spend about £5 a day on lunch!!!! This needs to stop and he knows that.

So we are going to have a quiet couple of months, which is fine by me!!

Been feeling really low over the weekend. I've been having crying days again, nearly took the day off work, but I couldn't see what use that would be.

Anyway not much to report at the moment, Get paid on Friday so will work out what I have to throw at my debts then. But hopefully I'll be able to get rid of a nice big chunk.

Sorry to hear that Lucy - just look how well you've done (both with money and the weight loss) so far and keep positive. Is it the debt that's getting you down or other stuff?
