No it's not fair, but in a way I'm glad it took me so long to get over, as I know who I am now. We had been together since I was 18, so I went from livign at home to being in a serious relationship. But I have taken some time out to enjoy myself, I now have a good job and great friends.

I took looking for another relationship very slowing and I did get it wrong about 2 years ago, but I made a really good friend out of it. We decided we would be great if it wasn't for issues!! :rotfl: I think that the most important thing to remember is that you are the most important thing now. I had a friend who thought that giving me a month and then taking me clubbing would solve everything!!! Needless to say it didn't and we now don't speak as she didn't have the patience to let me go through my emotions. He had just come back from Iraq and part of me even wished he had been killed out there because he would have still been the man I thought he was. Terrible I know, but there you go, I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Just take it slowly and one day when you are ready you will find someone new.

You sound very sorted which is inspiring and gives me hope for the future! Guess you have to take these situations as part of the learning experience etc of life!

Wise words about making time for yourself and finding out who you are, I am just starting to come out of the shadow of being completely dominated for the last few years and its great!

Love reading your diary by the way you are doing brilliantly!

    Thanks GreenNinja.

Sorting my debt out, almost feels like taking the final steps to get over everything that happened. I first got into debt with my ex and although I added to it, I feel like I can blame the start on him. So once it is all gone, I'll be completely free of all reminders.

I know I'll never be dominated by anyone again... my new OH and I even argue over who pays for dinner as I hate it so much. We have now agreed that we take it in turns!!

Well I had a very lazy weekend :o I didn't even manage to do any housework

But I spent very little which is good.... and I have had some more money go into my OD so that has gone down. My pay off by chirstmas challenge is looking more and more like I might be able to manage it, just need to have a play with some of my spreadsheets and see what the repayments are looking like now.

All scheduled repayments have now left my account so it's just a case of Amazon payments and anything else I come across that can go into savings until next months round of payment. I'll hopefully be able to add some more to my Store card payment or something that way.

Had and ok food weekend, a couple of slip ups but was really good yesterday and can see a good week ahead. OH is on about me going up to meet his parents soon  and as his Mum is into cakes I need to be as light as I can manage before hand so I don't do to much damage, but hopefully this week I will be into virgin weight loss and will get into that next stone really quickly.

But I am aiming for a low spend day today. I need to get chillies and post some parcels but other than that I don't need anything. I am also still in credit which at this time of the month is amazing. I get paid on the 20th and normally everything has gone by now. So feeling really smug about it, hopefully it will last until payday and I can have a little in credit party!!

But I am going to try and keep saving the pennies so that I can pay off as much before Christmas as possible.

    Have fun x

    Afternoon.

Well I had my CT scan this morning so should hopefully hear back from my Doctor soon about that.

I paid in £5 of petrol money to go into my debt savings account this morning. Still trying hard to get rid of my Store card and OD before christmas. Although I have just realised I've overspent a bit this month and it looks like I'm going to drop a little into my LLoyds OD, but if I'm careful next month I'll sort that out.

I'm feeling a little down (hence the overspend) and now need to be careful that I don't make the overspend any more. Although my account is still in credit and it's never normal in credit at this time of the month (I'm paid on the 20th) Although saying that I only have my phone bill to go out now and then it's jusst petrol and spending money. So if I can keep this down it might not be that bad.

I need to have a look through and see if there is anything else I can sell on Amazon and I still need to sort out some stuff for a car boot sale. The idea is that if I can get everything boxed and ready to go then the next time we have a nice Sunday morning I can throw everything in the car and go.

Hopefully everything will go ok and I will keep you posted.

Right I am feeling a bit better about the world today so I've tried to stay off the site for as long as possible so that I can get up to date with my work. As I have been lacking motivation and spending a lot of time at work on this site.

    Anyway...

The sun is shining and I have stormed through a good chunk of stuff this morning still loads to to but feeling a little more motivated. In fact I must be feeling a lot better as I actually did some house work last night  things is there is still loads to do and I really need to get out and do some gardening as I have to battle my way through a jungle everything I leave the house. But it's not really been the weather for cutting the grass.

I've decided that although I have over spent this month I am not going to touch my savings and I am going to try really hard to remain in credit this month, if I have to go into my OD then it will only be by a little bit and I will make it up next month by working really hard at it.

Just thought I would pop a quick up date on, not much to do with moneysaving, but that requires some motivation and I still haven't searched out anything to put on Amazon. I might have a go at that tonight if I feel like it.

    Anyway take care x

Hi Lucy - 1982 was a good year wasn't it? Good to hear you're doing so well. My ex got married last year (we split Feb 2005) to a girl he'd known 6 months. I laughed when I found out - he was one of those people who was desperate to make other people think he was in a commited relationship but actually wants to be single.

Your weight loss is brilliant. Slimming world have some great cookery books so check out your local library to see if they have any. Or maybe try a charity shop or two.

    Hi Nicola.

I already have loads of their books and Mum and I are going to go halfs on a new directory soon as she uses it to.

1982 was a very good year!! But what is it with men who behave like that? I just don't get it, although I do have a friend who got his very own stalker for his 30th!! He loves the single life and wont change for anyone... at least he's honest. I just wish my ex's wife all the luck in the world... she's gonna need it! But I think I had a luck escape.

Pledging to be debt free for your baby is a wonderful idea. When are you due?

    Right.

Thought I would pop an update on here this afternoon as I only have 45 mins left at work :j and I have managed a whole day without much posting. I've been in and out and seen what everyone is up to and I've posted a few time, but nothing much like normal. It's sad because I miss everyone, but great as I have managed to catch up on some of my work. Not all but a few days like today and I should get there.

I spent £1.65 on lunch which would have been cheaper if I had brought my own from home, but for a jacket pot and yogurt I don't think that was to bad. I'm going to try and get orgainsed for tomorrow so that I have lunch already to go and don't run the risk of not being bothered like this morning.

So tonight I am going to do:

    1 load of washing
sort out something to go on Amazon
    Make lunch for tomorrow
Maybe go visit a friend, but only if above is done.

Have a great evening everyone and I'll log into tomorrow.

    Morning.

OK well I am hoping for another good day at work today, but we'll see how things go.

I've just worked out that once my phone bill goes out I'm going to have about £30 to last me until the 20th  which means I am going to drop into my OD again  it's my own fault as I was about £50 into it when I was paid (so already £50 down) and then I managed to overspend  . The question is what do I do now?

I have about £70 in savings but this is for my car's service and OH and Mum's birthday's so I'm not touching that. I have £68 available in my 0% OD which I could transfer so of or I could see how bad the damage is and just pay if off next month by being really good.

Any suggestions would be really welcome.

I know I need to find some more things to Amazon, but I ended up going to bed at 8 last night. But OH is busy on Sunday so that might be a good time to go through everything for car boot/Amazon as I'll have the day to myself.

Would love to hear your suggestions on beating the OD back into place and I do keep a spending diary... it all just went a bit wrong this month!!

    Thanks x

    Mortgage-free Glee!
I would use the 0% overdraft to avoid charges if possible this month, but ensure you pay it back at the earliest opportunity.

Have you been keeping a spending diary lately Lucy? Sometimes its useful doing this for a few weeks as it keeps me in check if I find I am wandering a bit.
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D
