Trying not to fall off the DF wagon

I should have married a plumber :cool:
Goodness knows what our boiler is doing now. No hot water this morning, then when I did get it to come on it was only briefly. It fired up for the CH but then no heat was coming through the radiatorsSo I rang the plumber and he is going to come out tomorrow afternoon and then I heard it fire up and we now have both CH and HW ????? I'm not cancelling him as there obviously is a problem - it shouldn't be this temperamental.
I fear the first major expense of 2013 will be a new boiler.
I'm still hacking away, my back is hurting now but at least my headache has gone. DD said she felt achey earlier but is OK now and is snuggled under a throw on the sofa watching Tangled.
There's roast gammon in the oven - if the worst comes to the worst we can huddle round that to keep warm:rotfl:It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
Ah Poles , what a pain the in backside with the boiler, I hope you get it sorted without the expense of a new one to buy !
You seem quite calm about the whole thing though ..... I have visions of you sat huddled around your gammon warming your hands
Hope you have a great new years eve and best wishes for 2013

Thanks Coco - I am still amazingly calm....
Plenty of heat and hot water this morning and when I got home about 2.30 the heating was on but there was a red light on the boiler. The manual says to call an engineer when this happens. I rang the plumber and he said he can order some parts that might stop this problem. He said it should be OK for now but let's see.
DD is clearing out her toy-box because she is 'bored'. I wonder how long it will be before she is 'bored' with that and I end up tidying all the mess away?
Just me, dd, Jools Holland and a takeaway curry tonight which is how I like it
The rest of the family is coming round tomorrow and I am doing a roast. Two in one week! I said I was becoming domesticated :rotfl:
Happy New Year everyone - here's to 2013 :beer:It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
Happy new year to you and your girly poles:beer:
Here's to a very successful 2013 for us all:)I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Thanks Pixie
Well I just found my second wind - thought it was about time I cleaned the bathroom so i did that. DD said she wanted to hoover out her toybox and then she hoovered the living room and kitchen! So we did that and I thought I might as well do upstairs and before we knew it we were dusting and polishing too. I even did the mirror wardrobes in my room (a horrible job) and all the mirrors and shower screen in the bathroom :T
Just sitting here watching Top of the Pops (abysmal but dd likes it) and waiting for our curry to be delivered.
I wonder what 2013 will bring. Some of the stuff that happened in 2012 I would not have believed if you told me it this time last yearIt's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -

Happy New Year to you too :beer:It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
I just found my list of New Year Resolutions from my last diary (yes - I am THAT bored
) just to see if I actually fulfilled any of them - I don't know how to copy a post from another diary (or even if it's possible) but I managed most of them but i still haven't opened a bank account for dd
2013 New Year's Resolutions
* Open bank account for dd
* Learn how to roller skate backwards
* Go out on my bike at least once a week
* Continue improving at pole
* Start overpaying mortgage
* Continue with MSE and generally being good with money
I think that's it for now. Most of those are do-able (apart from opening the bank account - I probably still won't have got round to that by this time next year :rotfl:)
Still not sure whether to have a drink or not. I'm feeling a bit achey again but can't keep taking tablets. I might have a little ginger wine - I know it's an old lady drink but it's nice and warming and might help my throat.:)It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0
