Trying not to fall off the DF wagon

Popping on early to confess (to anyone who's reading) that I have bought a new blind for our bathroom
This means that I really will be up against it this month with the money I have left which is about £80
It's not too bad because I already have money in 'pots' for food and petrol, I have nearly £60 M&$ vouchers left if I really need them (would rather not have to use them on food, want to buy lovely undies) and I have my eb@y sales.
The only thing I need to buy is a christening present.
And at least I have my lovely blind to look forward toIt's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -

Another New Year's Eve in. I don't really mind. We have my nephew here too as my sister is really poorly. She has labyrynthitis (sp?) and has been really dizzy and sick for the last 4 days. She literally cannot stand up or walk anywhere. Apart from feeling really dreadful she feels so miserable too
I feel so sorry for my nephew too bless him.
We've been busy though. Only half day at work today so got food shop done this afternoon - defected to L!dl for a change and spent £42.57. Monies noted down in red book and transferred over from food account.
Watched a Pink Panther film afterwards (I love those) whilst the kiddies did some colouring.
I've made a gluten free banana loaf this evening. I'm just fed up with not having anything in the house I can snack on that's safe for me to eat and this was just so easy! Unfortunately not had a chance to eat any yet as am still stuffed from our pizza which was delivered earlier.
Had a massive tidy up down here earlier. I love the xmas decs but they do make the place look untidy and i just can't stand mess! They will be staying up till Saturday though. Whilst I was still feeling energetic I got all the ironing done including 2 duvet covers!
Just sat down with my first drink and watching Sex and the City because there is nothing else I fancy! Even Jools doesn't appeal this year......
I will see out the old year and the new one in at midnight then I'll probably go to bed! The glamour...It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
Got up about 7.30 with the kiddies. It's a bit miserable here. We've had breakfast and I have watched The Ladykillers. I do love old films.
DD has made a white chocolate cheesecake to take round my mums later. First we are visiting a friend who is 40 today.
My sister said she feels slightly better and has managed to make herself a cup of tea. Hopefully the dizziness is starting wear off.
I need to hoover all through today and clean the bathroom and all floors (will be easier when I have my steam mop). We have friends round for dinner tomorrow and I want the place to be all nice.
Need to take all our empties to the bottle bank.
New Years Resolutions
I will go out more. I am in danger of turning into a complete bore. Thing is I am quite happy to stay in but after having a couple of nights out in December I realise how much I miss just socialising and being me.
I will do more with my garden. I do really enjoy pottering and I think gardening is a skill I need to learn but will be good to have. I've had a look at the Greenfingered board and even feel temped to grow some veg!
Keep on top of the finances (obvious).
I will do 100 stomach crunches every day (easy:D).
I will meal plan and stick to it. Will post next week's on here later.
This list isn't conclusive and I will probably add to it later today
Hope everyone has a great start to 2015 :beer:It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
Meal plan
Today - slow roast lamb (friends coming round)
Tomorrow - spag bol (will make extra for freezer)
Sunday - roast chicken and all the bits
Monday - salmon pasta
Tuesday - chicken something or other
Wednesday - Jacket potatoes
Thursday - spag bol from freezer
Hoping there might be some lamb left today in which case we will have stovies on wednesday instead of boring jacket potatoes
To-do list
Clean bathroom as didn't do it yesterday
Prep meat and veg for later
Quick tidy up
Need to list a few more bits on eb@y. My curtains have 25 watchers now and 2 bids (so far), unorthodox item has 7 watchers and 7 bids :T
Ta-Da! List
All hard floors mopped
Bins taken out
Banking checked
100 crunches (smashed)
My sister was marginally better yesterday. She could sit up at least.
£35 has tracked to my T0pcashback account :T
Just sitting here watching an old Morse while I eat my breakfast. DD still isn't up. I enjoy having the morning to myselfIt's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
Hello Vasseur just found your diary so not read it all yet but wanted to say hello anyway!
Loving the lists!!! I really need to move my backside and get some bits done (need to do a list first!!!) - this Christmas and New year malarkey really gets in the way of being organised!!!
Hope your sister is a bit better today!
How's the mop doing? do you think they are really worth it? I have looked a few times but wondered if it would be another house hold gimmick that doesn't get used!0 -
Hi Judi and welcome to my diary :hello:
I am the lady of the lists - can't function without one, must be an age thing
Not used my mop yet but I'll let you know. It was only £24 but had great reviews.
Keep up with your diary - I admire your energy and all you've achieved the last year - keep it up - it definitely helps reading this forum. It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
We had a lovely day yesterday but dinner was a disaster! My failsafe slow roast lamb was awful - it didn't fall off the bone or anything. Maybe I should stick to buying it in the spring :think:I was so disappointed because it smelled great while it was cooking.
To do list
Quick tidy up
Sort some washing out
Pop into town
Take down xmas decs
Ta-da! List
Christening present ordered (went though T0pcashback and ordered to deliver to store so will pick that up tomorrow)
Money shuffled around between bank accounts, red book updated.
Curtains have 36 watchers on them and bids up to £17 now
We're off to the panto tonight :T Oh yes we are.......It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
Hi lovely, great to see you posting here again:T
I did type a long reply the other day then damn ipad froze and I lost it...so let's try again;)
I need to get myself a bit more organised again, I always like doing this in January...after the spending and eating at Christmas I love the back to normal bit. I got into gardening a bit last year - though my garden is rubbish - it's just a patio area and the rest is gravel...no grass or beds whatsoever:o So I had lots of pots and a couple of grow bags...this year I want to grow some from seed too...we shall see:rotfl:
Meal plan looking good...I do still keep meal planning, that's a habit I can't break really. Plus girls like to know what they're having now:) Though I so need some new ideas. Youngest bought me Jamie Oliver's Comfort food book so must look through for some ideas.
Right, time to get up, been sat in bed reading with a cuppa for ages;)I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
