Hm, I may follow your example in heading for TBC instead of QCo. I looked for insurance on there a week ago and was very disappointed to find that they'd set up their own search tool instead of using the wider ones.

Good on you for going running - not sure I will manage to follow that example very soon, but may try when I'm back in the swing of the day job. I did get the running book on Amazon deals for a whole 99p today - that must count for something :D

QCo have annoyed me so much recently so I strayed over to TCB (never used to like them that much as I found the website wasn't as user friendly). Anyway the website has improved and their cashback rates are so much better! I still have about £40 waiting to come from QCo though.

Rosa - buying the book definitely counts :D I don't think I'll be going running any more this week but at least I've got the first one of the year out of the way.

Have felt like complete pants all weekend with a horrible flu-like headache and aches and pains. Only popped out once to Ada's to get some medicine and ended up spending over thirty quid  I desperately needed a couple of new work tops (i couldn't repair the others any more :o) so that's where the majority of my money went :(

Food shop on Friday night came to £34.78 (all accounted for) and majority will stretch to meals for next week too so will only need fresh bits when I shop this Friday (or so the theory goes......)

    Meal plan

    Tonight - salmon pasta
Tomorrow - spinach and pancetta pasta (superquick - dd at guides)
    Wednesday - chicken stir fry
    Thursday - spag bol
    Friday - at mums

It's a bit pasta heavy but needs must.

Received £1.55 from QCo so have added it the grocery account. Really hoping that some bigger amounts cash out soon. It all helps.

Really cross as some charges have come out of 2 of my accounts. Obviously I deserved them and they only total £15 but what annoys me is they didn't show when I looked at my accounts yesterday yet when I look today they show as yesterday's date  Anyway I have transferred money over to cover but it now means that this weeks food shop will be incredibly tight. Luckily I doubled up with most things last week and should only need fresh bits but I will have to be really careful.

    To do list

    Hoover all through
    Mop all floors
Take a top back to Ada's (looks awful on)

    Ta-da! List

100 crunches done (everyday this week :p)
Been for 2 runs this week
    Bathroom cleaned

Food shop came in at £21.70 which was still more than I needed it to and would have meant that I would be a couple of quid o/d come payday but last night I had an unexpected sale on eb@y so I've withdrawn £5 from P@ypal to cover that.

    Ta-da! list

    Floors mopped
    Rubbish taken to tip
Walls finally washed down where coving was put up back in May
    Beds changed and bedding washed
    Ironing done
    Eb@y sale parcelled up

Went for a run yesterday and it was collllllddddd but I wrapped up warm and soon felt OK. It felt good to get out and I was 25 seconds faster than last week :) Hoping to get out again today too.

Still hanging on to my credit balance by the skin of my teeth. I have about £5 in my purse and slightly less than that in my bank account.

Very very annoyed with QCo. A purchase I made from J0hn Greed last APRIL has had the £10 cashback declined. I've been chasing it for a while and was getting the usual standard response email from them but J0hn Geeed declined it on Monday. They really are bl00dy useless. I have put in a claim but it's asking for order numbers which I no longer have after all this time so I imagine that will be the all the excuse they need to fully decline it again. I am never going to buy from them again - I'll use TCB and buy from Swag.

Have fallen at the final hurdle and spent some money that I theoretically don't have :o Bought DD a pair of C0nverse boots for her birthday - they were reduced to £17 (from £43) so too good to miss and also had to buy some screenwash for the car (fed up with smearing dirt over the window every time i go out) - £5.99.

Not horrendous I suppose and might not even come out of my account until Friday when i get paid anyway.

Payslip shows that the shoes will be covered by the tiny rise that we got so not feeling too guilty.

Got text from CSA this morning and 4 weeks money should be paid into my account on Friday :T

£1.13 being paid in next few days from TCB.

    Ta-da! List

    100 stomach crunches
    Lunchtime run (freezing!)
    Cleaned bathroom
    Cooked dinner
    2 loads of washing

  • Booo to QCo, stuff them - thanks for the TCB tip though, I hadn't been looking for alternatives but it turns out they have over £35 on insurance with the same company I want :)

V impressed you are out running... keep meaning to get back to that... maybe soon :o

Less than half price surely justifies picking up stuff now!

TCB seem to be a lot better than QCo now their website is more user friendly. I'm itching to sort out my home ins but it's not due till April! TCB seem to have a lot of great cashback rates at the moment.

Just getting back into the running after the xmas break - hoping to get my 3rd run of the week done today. It was absolutely freezing yesterday although I timed it perfectly as it started snowing about half an hour after I got back. I need to get some kind of hat though....

I think they were justified purchases too! Just checked my account and I'm still in credit so I am chuffed to bits that I have made it through the toughest month of the year. Not only have I remained in credit but as well as paying all the usual bills I have managed to save some money, pay my car tax, all school related expenses and even bought some nice bits for the home. So it can be done if you are prepared to trim other areas.

Going to buy The Mirr0r today as there is a voucher for £5 off a £40 A1di shop.

    Payday :j

Have done the bank account shuffle and so far everything is looking quite healthy. This is the first month for absolutely ages that I've still been in credit when my salary goes in and boy does it feel good :)

Have paid DD's school dinners, guide subs and filled the groceries, car, after school club 'pots'. Thanks to the 'free' council tax month I've saved an extra £100. Going to double-check my figures in a bit because it almost looks too good. If they're correct I will save a bit extra :D
