Trying not to fall off the DF wagon

Withdrew money from savings to pay for our holiday flights. The money has been sent straight to my friend's credit card as she booked them. Just waiting to hear now what the accommodation cost is but I already have more than enough saved for that. Then it will just be a case of save save save - hoping to have enough for a new road bike, holiday spending money and dd's new school uniform by August.
Talking of which - we find out which school she'll go to on Monday. Praying it's the Grammar School......
I bought yesterday's Mirr0r for the £5 A1di voucher so will use that tonight when I do my food shop.
Put my new curtains up and listed the old ones on eb@y and they have 7 watchers on them so hopefully will get something back.
Managed 4 runs this week including yesterday when it was pouring before I even started out. I was absolutely soaked but felt so good when I got back especially after I had a lovely shower and sorted my hair outDefinitely going to look for some new running shoes this weekend as I'm certain the grip is going on mine. I think I will try some on in the shops then see if I can get them cheaper online.

Food shop (after using £5 voucher) came to an incredible £44.82 made even more amazing as there was a £15.99 iron included in it :T Monies transferred over from food account to cover.
Meal plan
Saturday - lime & coconut chicken (as it was so delicious last week)
Sunday - harissa salmon
Monday - tuna steaks
Tuesday - pancetta pasta
Wednesday - stir-fry
Thursday - jacket potatoes
Will probably be back later to confess to the huge amount I have spent on running shoes.......:cool:It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -

I've bought 2 pairsalthough in my defence one pair will be going back and the other pair are not only far superior but were half price
Also bought a couple of pairs of cropped leggings and a pair of c0nverse trainers for dd (late birthday present).
Oh and can thoroughly recommend the iron I got from A1di - very smooth and easy. It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -

Have very much overspent this weekend so will be belt-tightening for the rest of the month. Decided to keep the first pair of trainers as i) I need a pair for home and ii) I actually really like them
Also bought a new hairdryer (again from A1di - £15.99) as the one we have at the mo is rubbish.
Had a migraine all weekend which started Saturday morning and has literally just gone this morning, so had to buy some Migra1eve yesterday which were the best part of 8 quid but at least they take the edge off it. Feel very tired today as I can't sleep when i have a migraine - lying down makes it worse so I have to try to sleep propped up on four pillows
It really wipes me out and feel bad for dd but she offered to clean out the kitchen cupboards for me yesterday so everything is organised and clean and out of date food is in the bin! I'm taking advantage of these offers as I know she will soon be a stroppy teen and won't want to do anything!
Also ordered myself a skirt pattern yesterday. I've really been enjoying the Sewing Bee and I always used to be quite good at sewing when I was at school (and I can read a pattern). Last year I couldn't find any nice skirts for the summer so this year I am going to make one. At least that is the plan.........It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
DD got a place at the grammar school :j so relieved. Now I must start saving up for the uniform.....approx £400 ....a nice problem to have though
I would have settled for this, this time last year.
Sold an old summer dress of dd's just for 99p so packaged that up and sent off yesterday. I also had a bid on the curtains at the cheeky price that I first (rather optimistically) listed them at so quite pleased with that. They also have a few watchers so maybe they will go for even more.
Spent a large chunk of last night altering a world book day outfit that I had to panic buy for dd last week. She is such a skinny minnie I had to both shorten and take up the skirt. At least it gave me an excuse to get my sewing machine out again.
QCo have finally confirmed some cashback on a purchase I made last April that was originally declined so I'm really pleased that I raised a cashback claim. It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
Hurrah for DD :T (meant to say had crossed fingers for you) - I hope you're both celebrating :j.
And booo to migraines

The curtains went for £40 so really happy with that.
I'm currently on day 4 of 'De-chox' - giving up chocolate for March. Anyone who knows me will know that this is going to be a real test for me. I probably have some chocolate every day of the week! Still - I do like a challengeIt's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
I am impressed at anyone attempting to give up chocolate altogther
I usually get through a bar a day, although I notice that I have gone off it recently and the same thing happened last time I came off gluten - when it got to about 8 months in I lost some unhealthy cravings and found it much easier to stick with healthy food. I wonder if its related to my sense of smell coming back too - another weird thing I've found both times - as that does affect taste. It may be just as well as I am beginning to think I really must do some exercise :rotfl:

The only time I have ever gone off chocolate was when I was first pregnant - couldn't bear it! It's just my treat at the end of the day when everything is done and dd is in bed and I'm watching what I want on the TV. I don't think cutting out gluten has had any effect on my chocolate cravings. It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0
