  • How was it left with the teacher? I hope dd hasn't been given any punishment, especially with no witnesses and with another child actually backing up your dd, grrrr, I'm angry on your behalf;)

Ooooh, lucky you on a night out tomorrow...is it classed as a date?!:rotfl: Enjoy it anyway, always good to get yourself looking glam and have a bit of fun:D

I forgot to tell the teacher that there was someone who saw that my dd did nothing. What an idiot. She hasn't been given any punishment and he did say that he didn't give her any yesterday (although that's not what it sounded like at the time). I told him that he needs to sort out the lying problem but dd said she didn't think he'd had a word with the other girl.

I don't know if it's classed as a date but he is cooking me dinner, then we're going for a few drinks and then going to see a band. If it's not it's the closest to a date I've had for ages :p

This is fast turning into a spendy month and we aren't even in February yet :o

DD needs glasses but mainly it's for eyestrain. She's had a few headaches recently in the evening so we'll see if the glasses help.
Frames were only £9.95!! My eyes are worse so I chose some new frames for £39 - they are red and plastic, quite funky :) Total spend including eyetest - £132.95.

DD is also having a birthday party now. Same as last year - a cupcake party because my friend who does the parties is now free - £90 including a birthday cake shaped like a roller skate.

Picked up a few bits in Ada's £9.

I need to shuffle some money around but I think we'll be OK. I am the queen of the food shop so will be able to save some money there. We have loads in for probably the next couple of weeks (barring milk, fruit and veg) but the fun fund is seriously depleted now. I have overfunded the car account so might have to pinch somemoney from there. We have loads to look forward to - birthday and party, holiday is booked and I still have my chromeb00k to arrive :D. Besides it is a short month.

I had a great time last night. We went to an argentinian place for steak beforehand which was delicious - steak can be so disappointing but this definitely wasn't. The band were fantastic - a Pink Floyd tribute band. It's always a bit worrying going to these things in case they disappoint but we needn't have worried because they were brilliant. They played for almost 3 hours and one of the highlights of the night was chatting to a lady in the loos in the interval who said she had seen the original Pink Floyd years ago and that I was probably too young to remember them. I said I wasn't that young and she said she thought I was only 27 :j
As they'd finished at 10.30 we went to another couple of bars that had bands playing.

All in all a great night for food and live music :T

Today dd and I went for a nice walk with my sister and nephew but it was so exposed where we were and the wind was really strong and cold even though the sun was shining. We came home earlier than I'd have liked but it was nice to be back home in the warm. We played monopoly and watched Miss Potter and I had a quick doze on the sofa.

I've just done all the ironing and will put a fish pie in the oven in a little while.

Not much to report here. NSD today which is good considering the way things are going.

I went for a run today. Nice to get the first one of the week under my belt. It was quite cold and wondy. It's pouring and blowing a gale now.

I've got a risotto on the hob. Got to go out and pick dd up from brownies at 7.30 :( wish I didn't have to leave the house any more tonight....

Yay for risotto. It's become my destress activity and also my fallback as since I started buying frozen chicken breasts I've always got stuff in the house to make one :)

I've always thought making risotto is very therapeutic not to mention comforting to eat :)

    Spends so far this week:-

Brownie badge book for dd £3.80
    2 W1spa bars for me £1.20

Had a really busy day yesterday, loads of rows, unsupportive and unhelpful colleague and then I got an email to say that my chromeb00k would not be delivered within the timescales they'd given  so that put in me in a really bad mood. And it still didn't arrive today.

Had agreat pole class last night though so am feeling suitably achey today.

Terrible atmosphere at work again today and I can't see it improving any time soon.

DD is complaining of a sore throat. I hope she doesn't come down with anything - she has her birthday party saturday...

  • Hurrah for pole and booo to work atmosphere. It's rotten when that happens as it's so hard to shake it off outside work.

Still no chromeb00k. Rang up PC W0rld who said they were out of stock when I ordered it - apparently the computer system for a computer store is not sophisticated enough to register when they have run out of stock . Should be getting more in this week and I should get mine by the end of next week blah blah blah....I won't want the bl00dy thing by the time it arrives.

    Spends since last update:-

    Petrol £39.82
Party bits, medicine for dd in sainsbugs £14.02
Card, more party bits in Ada's £12.04
    Food shop in A1di £35.69
£90 for dd's party and cake

It all sounds quite a lot but it is all accounted for already and will come out of my food and petrol accounts.

Been busy since we've been in. I have hoovered all down here and dusted and polished. It's amazing how the thought of people coming round can give you the motivation to get some housework done :D. I've done one wash load, hung that out and another is in. I will put a third on to finish when we get up tomorrow.

It will be a busy weekend. Tomorrow dd has her birthday party from 2 till 5 but there is such a lot to do beforehand. We have to go to the opticians to pick up our glasses first thing which is a 20 mile round trip, then i want to change both beds and hoover upstairs (and possibly dust and polish too), sort the party food out, have lunch etc. Actually it doesn't sound so bad now I've typed it out but most of it has to be done tomorrow because we are out all day Sunday which is dd's actual birthday. It's nice to have so much on though.

DD is poorly though :( she's coughing like a retired coalminer. I think it's just a nasty cold but it's such a shame because she was poorly on her birthday last year.
