Don't get the best internet on GiffGaff, but mostly works for me. I suspect if you really want better customer service you should pay the extra and go with O2. Thinking of moving to Vodafone myself, but I think all in all you get what you pay for.
Exactly. While owned by O2, giffgaff is still a relatively small network, and cannot always deal with the amount of customers now due to its popularity because of its prices. I've been on GG for 18+ months now, but while the internet hasn't always worked, I've always been happy with it.
With regards to O2/Telefonica, a lot of people in O2 don't actually know what Giffgaff is. You've no idea how many times I've gone into O2 shops asking about Giffgaff and this was my response: " What's Giffgaff?"0 -

Freddo ask them next time "Who's your CEO?" You will get the same confused face LOLSO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0 -
I've been with Giffgaff for 9 months, and have had very few problems with them. I had some initial difficulties when I first joined, which were resolved by the Community but mainly things run quite smoothly.
I've tried Goodybags, but the Giffgaff end of month statement usually points me to PAYG as I'm not a heavy user. I have easily covered my costs so far with the Payback, and really enjoy the forums.
Entertainment and virtually free running of my phone - don't think any other network would be offering me that :j"Be kind. For everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle." Plato

I suppose GiffGaff could use the BT or TalkTalk call centres in India, they both have an excellent reputation for being polite but completely useless at solving problems.
The whole point about GiffGaff is that it is a low cost provider with a lot of help given by the users community forum. Yes it does go belly up occasionally in which case I either use a landline or a spare phone on another PAYG network.
Frankly are any of the bigger companies much better? One of the GiffGaff problems a few months ago was caused by an outage at O2 that affected their mobile as well. None of the others get particularly high ratings in the surveys of customer service but you pay more for them.0 -
Just port out to Ovivo.
Free bundles each month: 100 minutes, 100 texts, 300 mb
Reliable, no hassle, no stress, great CS.
And free!

Been with giffgaff for several months and have only lost service for 10 minutes and my friend using the same model of phone as me on a O2 contract was also offline at the same time. When I joined Giffgaff I thought If it doesn't suit me I have only spent £10 and could move back to O2 or anybody else with my phone being unlocked.
I found the reception at least the same as O2 and was chuffed when they started giving me payback which means I have received around £90 credit from them which is more than I have spent with them. It's a no brainer for me
The only thing I would advise is spend a few minutes browsing the giffgaff web site so you know how the tariffs work and stuff like that.
There is plenty of help on the forums if you get stuck.0
