    Hi ladies!

I managed to GA two more stash items I realised I would never get round to using to a friend of my mum's:

    1 x Johnson’s Holiday Skin (400ml)
    1 x Johnson’s Holiday Skin Daily Facial Moisturiser (50ml)

Don't know why I didn't do it sooner, really...I should have just admitted it to myself...or perhaps the fact that The Hoarder Next Door has just been on Channel 4 had something to do with it! :rotfl:

  • I have two more UU's to report, I am on a roll! Determined to pull even before the end of the month.

Umberto Giannini incredible body volume shampoo for big hair mini
    Cute or what bath fizzer

The shampoo was an amalgamation of several other leftovers so I was glad to see the back of this.
The bath fizzer, well! I used the yellow one. It made my bathwater look like I had peed in it! Otherwise no discernible benefit, but no loss as they were free on the 3 for 2 in Boots.

Hope everyone has had a nice time. I am down in Newcastle for my break and hit the sales today. I was very good and haven't bought any toiletries. The only challenge related INs I got I have already declared last month, the QVC Elemis TSV set.

    Welcome to the newbies :)

I've been having problems in work recently and made the mistake of posting about one of them here:-

Does everyone on here make an inventory of products? I have stuff scattered (stashed) here there and everywhere and I'm already daunted by the thought of it!

At the risk of sounding like an anorak,I have 2 spreadsheets - 1 arranged by brand and 1 by type eg cleansers, bath & body, eye make up etc. I find this really helpful. I also colour code it so I know what needs to be used first. I knew it was time to join the challenge when I mentioned these spreadsheets at last years work christmas meal and it stopped conversation dead..... I know it sounds a bit ocd but it works for me.

Ooh, I forgot...I'm throwing away a crystal deodorant stick as well. They aren't working for me, much as I want them too!

*offers a big hug* It's a scary world outside the toiletries thread! :)

A few christmas INs to declare (I wish people wouldnt buy me makeup, it takes me forever to get through it!):
    Avon Snowflake bath bomb
Avon Color Trend Blue Morph nail varnish
    Avon Color Trend Black eyeliner
    Avon Perfect Plum glimmerstick
    Vivo Take Time nail varnish
L'Occitane Fleurs Merveilleuses shimmering oil - I treated myself with my xmas money, been looking at this with curiousity for ages and it was in the sale:o

Christmas was very stressful and not much fun here (husband and I had a big row on xmas eve so it was very frosty on xmas day, and my family drove me insane for lots of reasons). But my little one enjoyed her second christmas which made up for all the rubbish.

Roll on 2013, this has been a terrible year and I'll be glad to see the back of it!

Sorry to hear you had a stressful Christmas. Have to admit I feel much the same about 2012. Enough already!

It's not been without its good points but in between my mum's illness, the failed visa application & appeal and ultimate break up with my ex and ongoing health problems of my own it certainly wasn't a year I'd choose to repeat.

To cap it all off, I noticed the other day a small spot of alopecia has appeared on my head. I suffered from this a few years ago (also stress triggered) and I really don't want to go through it again - ended up with some really large bald spots before.

Gives me every reason to focus on looking after my health in 2013. I've said a number of times before I am going to make it my number one priority, and then ended up putting work first, but this year I am not going to do that.

I know I can't actually take complete control of my life - there's always random elements of chance that will influence how things go. But to the extent I can take control, I'm going to. Including continuing to focus on saving my money for the things that matter by not wasting it on things I don't need. Would be nice to have a bathroom that looks rather tidier by the end of 2013 - I keep my full size stuff on display as a deterrent for buying more, but there is rather a lot of it!

I haven't received any other toiletries beyond the Body Shop stuff I already mentioned, but I did get a Leighton Denny nail kit - just haven't been counting nail stuff as part of my stash as with the exception of things like base and top coat I can't see me ever using any up.

My focus for make up including nail polish on only buying colours I don't have anything like AND will suit me. I bought a couple of OPI green polishes in the last year that I can't really work out why I bought, not sure they suit me at all - not enough shimmer to work.

Tidied up OH's stuff this morning and he is as bad as me!

For what it's worth, I've been posting on this and previous threads on the same subject and at first said I wasn't going to do a stash list for the same reason. However, I still continued to indulge in new products that I didn't need, albeit at a slightly reduced rate.

More recently I took the plunge and made my list, and now I really don't have any desire at all to add to it, brought home just how bad the situation was when I went through everything I had got tucked away. I'm now on track not to buy any toiletries this month having done so and am making much more effort to actually use and enjoy the ones I have.

Might not work the same for you - if just posting is enough to stop the spending. But if you find it isn't, you might find the process of going through everything makes the difference.

Ah - just noticed you made the inventory - well done! Hope you find it as helpful as I have :-)
