Picked up a roadkill penny yesterday while out in Newbury. Think it needs a bit of a bath to get the mud off before it goes in my tin though...
Hope you're all well.Sealed pot challenger#1677

I'll understand if you don't want me to join in anymore...But I hope I am still welcome...I promise I'll try to do better!!
Anyway...I've started again with 29p....I can but try....0 -

Of course we still want you. If you didn't have your pot what would you do for food? It is lucky that you had it. Keep potting and keep saving. Only take money when you NEED it though.
Also, if you could pop the amount you took out on your signature. I think it still counts towards your yearly total...... Hopefully someone will confirm that.....

Hello everyone
Could I join please? I know I'm a bit late but I have glued my piggy bank shut in anticipationoh and I've put some money in (very exciting)... I didn't look how much though - is that okay? I thought I'd only put silver and gold (coloured
) coins in and then it should take a while to fill - I'm sure it's already regarding me balefully now I'll have to smash it open
No really, I do know it's an inanimate object, please let me join :rotfl:Save £12K 2013 #54 - £4625/£15k£19,625 saved since 2011£50,000 by August 2014SPC #1925 £600 -

Hello peoples!
I offically haven't done this challenge for a few years now but I see I am still 41 on the list!
2013 is going to be the year of saving and making as much extra cash as possible so I will be rejoining please!
I recently smashed open my terramundi which I had for 2.5 years and it had £366 in it which has nearly all gone on Christmas so I have asked for another one for Christmas so I can start again.
Still have £26 worth of £2 coins to pop back in the new one!Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month0 -
A very warm welcome, Missmarple and hopefulmoneysaver94, it's lovely to have you both with us.
Enjoy yourselves saving. You'll find your number at the bottom of the list on post 5 of page 1. Please read through post 1 as it'll let you know exactly what to do with the challenge.
*Please pop your numbers on your sigs, it helps so very much.
Sorry to be so late, folks, but last night I just HAD to push off pronto, not well....then just as I was getting stuck into replying this morning - MSE went off air for repairs (inconsiderate lot) - then our DS & his DWcame over for coffee and a chat as it's their day off. Lovely to see them both and I knew you'd all understand.
Determined_diva wrote: »Am I allowed to pot money from a 2nd income not my main wages?
Hi Determined diva, not an easy question to answer I'm afraid as so much depends on what it is. If it's cleaning for Mrs Smith down the road/ taking in ironing, a PT job or anything similar then ok, it's fine!
However, 2nd incomes can also come in many different and very lucrative guises and anything such as that would be unfair to other members. Mostly the SPC is a challenge to see how much we can all save during the year...mostly it's relatively small amounts which are saved from wages, housekeeping etc. A little while ago someone asked a similar question re 2nd home lettings which, to my mind, is not fair on other members at all. If it's anything different that what's in the 1st paragraph then if you'd like to be a bit more specific then I'm happy to listen, PM me if you like.
Good for you, hampydoodums, you're well on your way to saving now!
Lovely to see you, Modesty! Good savings too.
A very nice sum potted, AlTeREgO, sounds as though you're very determined, brilliant.grandmasam wrote: »Done my total for this year, and I was surprised at the amount! Must be the 'sealed pot puppy" focusing my mind.. Rosie is now my avatar and the pot has paid for food for the year, spaying ,an op when she fell over her feet [really! ] and ripped her leg, injections and flea treatment.
Seriously everyone, without the sealed pot and the encouragement of all, I would never have afforded my dream hound and not able to afford the upkeep.
Love Caz and Rosie,
Hiya Caz!!!! Rosie too of course! She's adorable, Caz and my, how she's grown! You did sooooo well with your savings this year, brilliant!!Good job too with vet bills, so pleased she's ok now. It would be good to see you more often.
Get well soon, skilly! It seems as though your little treasure loves to share. :Aluckycharlie wrote: »Mind you now I realise I should read the first page but Sue never told me I had to read it EVERY year.
Been to great grandsons 1st birthday party He had a lovely time running around. This time last year he was waiting for major heart surgery which thankfully was successful and we now have a wonderful cheeky little boy running around thanks to Alder Hey :T:T
XLC2
Ah....but why not, LC 2?! The rules, Ts & Cs could all have changed since last time! You're setting a bad exampleafter all the time you've been here. Actually, I change things round on the 1st post every year so it's not so monotonous for 'old members'...puh...just as well leave it.
Was that REALLY a year ago with your little DGGS, LC 2!!!! Didn't he do well in the end...with a LOT of help from Alder Hey, bless em!!!!!! I'm delighted all came out well. :grinheart
An excellent idea, bossymoo, what we term as a 'holding pot', ideal.
Very, very puzzling, little_sweetie, but at least it's got company now. Definitely blame it on your poor back. BTW, could be more fun IF you had to frisk DH!!!
slowlyfading, there's nothing little about 85p in your pot - it's good!!redmel1621 wrote:I still hadn't the chance to get a SEALED pot yet, so ended up raiding it on tuesday for my son's footy subs.. £3!!
redmel, have a look below at what I've written to DHelen about a 'holding pot', it could be very helpful to all those with kiddies/youngsters.
flumpkin, why not fold one sock inside the matching one so they stay together. My car is poorly but I need it to get to Mum's for Christmas day so I'll have to get it fixed this week - aargh!Might have to raid my ISA though I'll try not to.
Hugs to those that need/want themRx
All the best with your car, Rosy, I truly hope you don't need to take cash out to get it fixed, maybe it's a bit like skilly, but got a car bug.DreamerHelen wrote: »I'm so sorry everyone but things are really difficult here financially so I had to raid my Pot and spend it all on Food Shopping...I didn't know what else to do...

No! Sorry, DHelen.....we're stuck with you now! Please, don't give it another thought, what with the time of year etc, it's forgivable. Try not to worry too much, in future try my holding pot idea: Why not use one unsealed pot as a 'holding' pot and pop the money in their first each week - then if it's not desperately needed (for CP costs etc) - put it in a Sealed
one so it stays put. Do that each week and it'll save you taking money from the bank. Discipline yourself to only take what's needed! :A

How terribly sad, redbooties!!! I do hope they start to think differently when they're a little older.
