Thankyou for the star Sue that makes me really happy :)
I'm not getting any change from buying lunch now I've got a prepaid card so Patrick the pot is sad. I could give him £1 every time I use the card to cheer him up, what do you think?

Havent posted since I first joined so definitely need to give an update!
Been finding a lot of roadkill in the former of 20 pence pieces. Even found myself walking out of a club and shouting roadkillllll at 20p (and I was sober).

I feel so excited to fill up my pot and even find myself deliberately making myself have change by getting £47 of petrol instead of £50 and such like.

Although I haven't counted my money I have bagged up any bankable amount (don't worry I will not bank) (also my sealed pot is one of those jars that count the money....not that I ever put it through the counting slot) and so far have 2 bags of £1's and 1bag of 50p's so it's going well.

I would like to add I did have some money in there before the official start date and most of the £1's came from a fruit machine (not the most MSE thing to do I know but only put £1.50 in)

Anyway enough rambling and getting defensive... Reckon I have around £65 in there so can't wait to see where I am next November.
  • Evening all

A big £5.87 potted tonight, yay!

Can't believe I've been doing the challenge less than a month and I'm already having to fight the urge to take the tin opener to my pot! Not to spend it - I'm just too nosy! I'm never going to last til November... :o :rotfl:

  • 11p added to the demi-john this morning :)
  • Potted a few £2 coins over the last few days, so feeling good. Might not be feeding the pot much until New Year now though, need to get last minute bits and bobs for Christmas.

Sheet ice on pavements here to day, just back from skating to school. Really scary xx

With my £50 standing order coming out after payday too, this means that I will have nearly 7,100 beautiful pounds tucked away - OK, I know it won't buy much yet, but I'm very proud of myself for getting this far! Still a glimmer of hope that I might move out of home by the time I'm 50!

Hi Cazzie, good to hear you're working away and saving hard in the background. You really have done so well in the last year and have the determination to do so again this year. WELL DONE on the £7.100 that yu already have!!! Don't belittle is, as to me alone, that's one heck of a LOT of money!!!Be proud, Cazzie, very proud!!!! You'll get there for sure! :D

    A splendid start, miss_mils!!

You've been bitten by the bug, Elmly! :j Making ourselves have change to be able to pot is what most of try to do...and why not!! IF you wish to go ahead and bank any that you've already banked up then please do so, just always remember to add the amounts to your siggy. Thaks and well done on the roadkill!! ;)

If you have a good amount already, Savingforsomeday, then just think what next November could see your Total being!!!!! Whenever temptation strikes just stand well clear of your pot and think how disappointed you'd be come November! :(

    11p is good, Pmof2!

Very well saved, mommyof4, do please take great care on that ice!!
Keep safe, healthy and keep on saving, everyone!
