    morning all

well that was an expensive trip to tesc@ to buy ginger! £10 note got me 2 x £2 for the owls head and 26p for the campervan. Oh well, foraging today for eiderflowers for cordial making and I have spied some massive blackberry bushes laden down with the promise of a bumper crop of fruit. I can see blackberry and apple jam on the way.

nell36, we opened our garden for the 'open garden' day for a couple of years and enjoyed the experience and so many people wanted to sit, linger and said I should do scones and coffee or tea!

    right-o ttfn for now.

Hi there, sparky, I hope all's going well for you both. Well done on the trolley £1. No one does that down here..or at least not for me to find. :D

That ginger beer sounds perfect, mishmogs, I love it to.
Hi mishmogs, and thank you! A few weeks ago we decided to blow most of our savings on a motorhome (before we get too old and achey to do it ;) ) as we had been longing for one for years and so we packed it up and set off to tour Cornwall. Starting at Looe we then went round the coast to Hayle, across to St Ives and then Tintagel taking in as many sights as we could along the way. The weather was foul apart from 2 sunny'ish days but it was so much fun :j Our DD thinks we are quite mad but it's now our turn to misbehave :D After sorting the washing I have found the grand sum of 53p to pot.....We are now totally broke until the end of the month but it was worth it :T

It sounds as though it was just perfect, little_sweetie, and I'm so pleased you didn't get the weather get you down, where's the point with summers these days! You may be broke now, but look at the memories you have! :j

Well done, Untouchable, it sounds as though you definitely go well prepared and no doubt go home with some good deals.

    Well saved, Kerry. ;)

Well done with yet more of the coast walked, Rosy, you must have been brave in those winds!!
As little_sweetie knows, Rosy, DH & I would also dearly love one, but ours will only be hired. I always used to love the looks of the Romahome ones until DH pointed out that you need to go outside to get in the back - not so much fun when it's raining - or when the midges are around in Scotland!!!!

Amazing how Scotsmen opted for kilts with so many midges up there.......unless it gives them some kind of thrill of course in nibbling their bits! :rotfl:

Where's LC 2?? It's way too quiet on here.

Absolutely adore blackberry and apple jam, mishmogs!
Have a good day, everyone, stay safe, healthy!! :D

Anyone wishing to join, please just ask, you're more than welcome, it's NEVER too late. There may be a lot of us, but don't feel intimidated, we're a lovely lot, so come on in.:grinheart

The wind didn't bother us too much walking as we were in the bit of jungle called the Undercliff between Lyme Regis and Seaton - amazing place! However it was a bit hairy on the bike on the M5 coming home so we had to stop often for coffee :rotfl:
I hadn't thought about that aspect of the Romahome but you're right of course - plan B then! I rented a VW in Cornwall a few years ago it was brilliant but I don't think I'm dedicated enough to own one and keep it working and lovely :o
Hope you get to play with one soon :)

Aw thanks rosy, it's nice to be missed :kisses3: We have bought an Elddis 115 which is a 2 berth and which has just enough room to be comfy but is not too big to park in a town car park. It has lovely blown air heating so that we are warm and cosy whatever the weather :D We looked at the Romahome too but it seemed a bit too small for us. Never say never, though. You might win the lottery and be able to buy one! Or downsize and spend the cash released as we have done :o I know our lovely sue has a bit of wanderlust too. Way to go! Must say, rosy, I think you're very brave on a bike on the M5 :eek:

Oo-er sue, I never thought of the implication of midges and Scotsmen in kilts before....trust you to put the thought in my mind! :rotfl::rotfl:

Enjoy the sunny afternoon all x

I believe I do! Last time there were carrots for $1/kg, apples and pears for $1.50/kg and I could get a whole chicken for $6! The chicken breasts were about $9.99/kg so on a whole its a great shop stop!
