Crimson what an amazing birdie family, have you got any pics of them all? We lost ours together in Jan and miss them terribly, really want some more feathered friends.

    Evening everybody

Really must try not to drop out for too long as things move so quickly (and often tangentially, lol :D) but I do love catching up on all the posts!

It's been a busy busy couple of weeks as I predicted, building up to major angst for DS who is taking his SATs this week :( will be so glad when Friday arrives...

Hugs to nell36 and sue-uu, thinking of you x

The rest of you (mentioning no names jakes-mum whoops) are plain bats (or should that be birds) in the belfry! I'm sure your feathered friends are all lovely, but I must admit it makes me come all over Tippi Hedren; the thought of all these various birds flying around my head makes me shiver somewhat :o

Not much to report on the potting front I'm sad to say, but at least my enforced NSDs have put my bank account back on the right track even if it hasn't fully recovered! I can remember potting 80p from a "live" DH trouser rummage (oh he does love those, can't imagine why ;)) and 20p from somewhere else; slim pickings indeed, but better than nowt :)

Take care everybody and wrap up warm as we are back to chill factor again (brrrr). Catch up with you later!

Oooooooo had to come back and tell you :D followed your advice Crimson and took his food away for a couple of hours, then offered it in my hand, couple of minutes later he hops over and starts to eat :D then climbed up on my fingers as he was pushing it all back into my palm and couldnt reach :j :j

The kids came home and as soon as we told them, that was it 'I want to feed the bird!! I want to!' so we let him out again and gave each of the kids some food in their hand, DS managed to get him to eat out of his hand after about 10 minutes of following him round the room :rotfl: then DD got her turn when he landed on the back of the sofa (at 5 years old shes not that tall lol so couldnt reach anywhere else he landed :rotfl:) so they are both a bit happier with their pet as the think now they can actually play with him *rolls eyes* I havent the heart to tell them this is just the beginning and we are still a loooooong way from playing on the floor with him :o

Oh Lindy it is a bit of a shock the first time they fly round your head and DH is still ducking slightly each time he does it (and as a previous bird owner I have no idea why! he's had birds as a kid!) but you do get used to it, once you realise they only fly to get away from you its not to bad :rotfl:

No more pennies for the pot unfortunately :( but theres always tomorrow :D
