Afternoon all.
Sue - wishes to you and all concerned.
Potted £10.40 today which included 4 x £2 coins.
Pot getting heavier and surprised it isn't full - not be too long though.
Potted £278+ so far and £300 target before the end of May should be a "doddle" now.
Half-way mark in a couple of weeks (28th May).

little sweetie - thankyou for your kind words. I am bruised and a bit uncomfortable, but otherwise have managed to get out and about today. Sadly hubbie passed away in 2004 of cancer (he was only 34) and therefore live alone, but family and friends have been wonderfully supportive.
Its been a stressful week, but can honestly say that my local hospital were brilliant yesterday, they made me feel very much cared for (even my mum commented how lovely all the staff including the volunteers had been).
Aw nell, I've just been reading your post with a lump in my throat. I'm just so glad that your experience at the hospital was relatively good and thank God for mums. Good luck, we are all thinking of you...and poor Sue-uu is having a stressful time of it too so God bless her and T too...Sealed Pot Challenge #012

I dont like to be the 'pushy mum' that teachers roll their eyes at but its been 48 hrs and to put it bluntly, his entire intestinal wall has been stripped of all its lining by something from somewhere so currently he's getting no nutrients, is malnourished and each day that goes past where I dont get it rectified is another day where hes at risk of intestinal cancer , so I kind of hoped for some sort of reply even if it was just 'thanks for your email, we'll look into it for you'It does nark me off that everyone seems so keen to make sure a vegetarian doesnt eat something containing meat but hardly anyone has the same concern for a coeliac which is a bloomin illness
Im seriously thinking of starting to write to manufacturers and ask why they have 'suitable for vegetarians' on their products but not 'suitable for coeliacs' when its a damn sight more dangerous for a coeliac to eat gluten than a vegetarian to eat meat (no offence to the vegetarians here, just a real pet peeve I have with companies)

:eek::eek: jakes-mum I actually had no idea that's what happens to a coeliac. Sorry for the ignorance but I thought it was an intolerance like IBS or something (hope I haven't just put my foot in it with IBS sufferers now)
I should definitely ring the school. And I'd point out exactly how serious it is for him. If he had something like a nut allergy which is very publicised then they would be extra careful.
I hope you get something sorted ASAP (oh and sorry again for my total ignorance)

ahh starnac dont be sorry, alot of people have no idea what Coeliacs disease is, they think its an allergy to gluten and sufferers have an allergic reaction. Ive spent the last 3 years getting through to his primary school, and now secondary school that it actually attacks his body removing all the filli from his intestines (which are what grab the food we eat and absorb the goodness) so his intestines are now completely smooth instead of like a nice furry carpetworst thing is it takes between 6 months and a year for the filli to grow back
Will def get onto the school if theres no email by mid morning monday as though he has asked them today about the chips, I cant really guarantee that 1) he will remember to ask about everything, and 2) they will actually check and tell him the truth and not opt for the 'hes over-reacting about his little allergy, lets just say yes to get him to move along' which unfortunately some people will doSPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £225/£10000 -
Jakes-mum and Starnac. No offence taken
(I'm a vegetarian and IBS sufferer!) I agree that they should put whether things are suitable for coeliacs or not on packaging. After all, it is taken seriously for nut allergy sufferers and vegetarians/vegans...it doesn't make sense!
Hugs to Sue and Nell...And anyone else that needs them too of course!
I've not been on here for a while, partially due to being very busy...but partially *hangs head in shame* due to not being very MSE! After doing so well last month, the opposite has happened this month and I need to be incredibly frugal from now on!
The money going into the pot today (gathered over the past week or maybe even week and a half) amounts to £1.10Still, better than nothing I guess. I'm not even sure much potting is going to happen over the next 18 days. (Wow, I can't believe it's that long until payday!
)

Aww thanks everyone for your kind words.
Treated the pot to £4 this morning. Was dithering about it, but not planning to go out anywhere today (its rainy and overcast) so a day on the sofa with a book and a cuppa.SPC No:118:j (6) £468.74 (7)
