C.A I did laugh at the salad story but not in a bad way. I always find its the smallest thing that pushes us too far. I mean you'd made it all the way to the shop and you were brave enough to ask them to put the tuna in the bottom and they are both huge things. You should have been on cloud nine.
Sadly i only made it because i had been going there for over a year previously (always getting the same thing the same way) with a friend most of the time. I was on my own this time and thought i'd be safe but alas, they decided to change the way they do everything. They have not seen me since!Sealed Pot Challenge member #071 VSP #4

Hi everyone. I haven't been posting for a couple of weeks but have been doing a bit of potting still. I have potted a total of £31 this month :j:j I think my total is about £318 so far which I am delighted with. My target is £600 for Christmas so I am well on target.
Good luck everyone and happy potting.0 -
Hi there, starnac! An excellent move with the saving a a full £5er! Why NOT save it when it was earned in such a way. Lovely thinking of the gent who wanted you to have it, bless him. :kisses3:
Stay focused on the CC, getting-there-slowly, you'll be elated once it's finally gone!!
You have a wonderful time in Crete, whizzybee........
.....you too, LC 2, and don't do me out of that rock you promised! BTW, great news about the £10 lottery win..that'll pay for the rock!mossy wrote:We met with our bank (Barclays) on Friday and they have given us a mortgage offer in principle....whoop whoop!! :T So we spent most of yesterday going around Estate agents....exciting times!!
Exciting times for sure, mossy, I'm absolutely delighted for you!! :j:T:jMissE001 wrote:I love, love, love this thread and have really got into the habit of saving and watching what I spend. Thanks Sue for continuing this wonderful challenge :A
Thanks so much, MissE, you've made my day in knowing just how much you're benefitting - so far! I love hearing of folk saving so well. :grinheartBTW, I do love running it anyway.crimson.addict wrote:THANK YOU SUE! dinglefoot, I truly understand the phobia part and know exactly how hard it is to fight back, but as you have already proved, it can be overcome by chipping away a little at a time. Congratulations for what you achieved Yesterday!! Steps like that are HUGE so be very, very proud of yourself. :j:T:j
Just one little tip: Always keep a brown paper bag with you..just in case of a panic attack; if one should strike, then grip the end of the bag (like the end of a Christmas cracker) and breathe in and out of the back, so you inhale the same air as you breathed out. It works a treat and will soon calm you down. If possible always look for an escape route/door and go near to it. All best wishes, I conquered it, so can you!
No one's laughing at you, Ruth, or at your words, people on here are terribly compassionate and all want to understand and help each other, that much shines out and it's brilliant. I've had many of similar experiences where, momentarily, you wish the ground would open up or you could be magiced away, but if only we knew just how many folk are just like us it would help to make it a little easier. Try the brown bag tip that I put to dinglefoot and always use at times such as you've described. Never be scared to go back - leave it a little while - the try it again, maybe have a friend outside waiting so you feel safer. Shops get a LOT of cusomers so the likelihood of anyone remembering that little incident is almost zilch.
Lovely to see you, Tia! I can't oblige you with a kick up the whatsit, but...get a grip girl and live within your means - always!!!!!!
That's fantastic news, new leaf!!!!!! :T There's a fair way to go til November yet so every possibility of you meeting your Target as you realise. Stay focused and strong! :jAll good wishes for a lovely day tomorrow, everyone, don't let anyone push you around!

crimson.addict I'm not laughing at you either. I've definitely done things that have embarassed me before...and as starnac said it is often just the tiniest thing that makes us snapDinglefoot well done on taking such a massive step. Some of the buying was probably stress related after your journey but they are now reminders that you can do it and have done it. Well done
Thank youI was feeling very tired and anxious by the time we got to the market and all the smells of various Asian/ethnic foods all around were making me feel nauseous in my anxious state. Maybe I bought stuff to make myself happy to fight the anxiety off?

Thank youAs for the paper bag tip, I'd almost forgotten that...that can be very helpful

Welcome to the thread
Thanks guys, i didn't think for one minute anyone would be laughing to make fun but it is a little ridiculous having to have something simple like a salad made exactly the right way. Anyway, i'm over it, although i can't ever go back cause the way they do things now just isn't right. Ah well, i've have birds sandwich when i eat out nowAlthough, i found out the other day that birds is a derby shop and doesn't have shops outside of the surrounding area so most of you guys wont know how amazing it is lol......
Dinglefoot your day out sounds fantastic. All those different smells
Popped some money in my pot this morning since its the end of the monthand had to change some 10ps for £1s so i have money for parking at the gym.
