Its brand new, we've never had a brand new car before and the dear girl out the front is not going to make it through many more months, shes only still going because she spends 99% of her time parked outside and hasnt been further than a mile in well over 2 months
. Love her dearly but the cost of just finding out whats wrong would be more than shes worth
.
I know its sounds a huuuuuuuge amount of money, but with 5 years warranty on it and the fact I doubt we'd get rid of her for at least 8 - 9 years its not that much in the terms of years to £'s. We've done the cheap £1k run arounds that need £800+ work every MOT and replacing every 18 months. Our dear girl cost us £7k 7 years ago and has cost us the grand total of £500 to keep on the road in all that time, so looking at her cost over the last 7 years compared to 7 years of cheap bangers, she was actually cheaper IYSWIM. So we decided to bite the bullet and go brand new this time for the warranty and free roadside assistance etc. With both of us disabled its something we cant be without and the peace of mind is priceless to us

Thanks for your kind words Sue. I have found it better for us to have a 'holding pot' and emptying it every Friday after I have been to the bank to withdraw our 'weekly budget'!!!!
Kids have been bugging us for an I-Pad, so fingers crossed there will be enough in the pot in November!

Jakes-mum, your 'fess of major spending has now made me feel much better about the sinful online sale purchase I just made!! But it was half price, it is purple, and it does have a lovely floral lining... In case anyone is wondering, it is a handbag
