    Happy Birthday, jakes-dad!

Well, today has been a very expensive day for me :(

I had the car serviced, to the tune of £175. And it needs some extra work doing before its MOT in July, another £200-worth. Plus the MOT cost. Plus the road tax and the insurance due in August. I wish I could walk everywhere and not need the car (but unfortunately not possible as we are semi-rural here and I need it to get to work...)

Then I discovered DS's passport has expired, so that's another £46 I need to find on top of the £400 ferry fare balance for our summer holiday to la belle France (luckily we do have free accommodation thanks to my in-laws). And DD is now going on Brownie camp in June, so add £40 to that.

I will definitely be stick thin now as I think I will have to give up eating to fund it all! Or just sell the contents of the house on Fleabay! Sealed pot might just have to be raided at some point (shock horror) but I will definitely now be loading a bit extra bit on to the (interest free) credit card each week so there is a credit balance ready to absorb some of the big hits when they come...

Can you tell I am feeling somewhat sorry for myself this evening?! :o Sorry, but I know you guys don't mind when we need to offload our frustrations now and again! I am sure I will be in a better mood tomorrow when I have had a good night's sleep!

The bright side is that I found a whole 50p in DH's trouser pocket when sorting laundry, so in the pot it went :T

Hey ho, onwards and upwards... and there was a nice-sized glass of wine left in the bottom of the bottle; that is now mine, so there!!!

Enjoy the rest of your evening folks, and catch you later :)

After an exciting day ten pin bowling and feeding 9 children in the back boot of my car (it was freezing today!!), I managed to pot £2.50 change from pocket money handed out at the weekend, 12p from DH's trouser pocket and £1.20 saved from not having a coffee at gymnastics when DD1 and DD2 had their class tonight. A miracle really as it was so cold at gym, but all i thought about was my dear old pot!! All in all a total of £3.83.:j

Been very good with NSDs this week....and managed to not spend budgeted money today to the tune of £15  . Going straight into the pot

And I got a bank statement today for an account I thought I'd closed with £77 in it - that's going into my 2013 savings challenge. Feel like I've had a wee windfall - even though it's my money :rotfl:

Needless to say, there are no more random accounts lying around so don't expect I'll be making any more posts like this - but I have enjoyed this one :)

Hugs to all who need them x

Just out of interest, what method/s do you use to try to up your income?
I don't seem to have a knack for it at all :( I've tried doing surveys on onepoll but they kick me off of most of the surveys and I've got up to £6.46 in the last half a year. I've also done a little bit of swagbucking, but it all seems to take ages for very little reward!

    Today I'm potting 10p :)

I tried a few survey sites, mainly use inboxpounds, don't really get much, I'm up to £4.44 after a week, and they pay out at £20. Like you say though I get kicked off a lot of them.

At the moment I've just started mystery shopping, registered with 5 companies, and have completed my first job today, got another 3 booked for tomorrow and Friday. They seem to pay between £2.75 and £12 each but there's lots of sites. I got all the info from the up your income thread.

I'm happy to answer any questions if you need anything
