"Sealed Pot Challenge ~ No 6"

Eeeek, nasty big food shopping bill this afternoon
as I have just been getting bits and pieces over the last few weeks and using up stuff before it goes out of date
On the bright side though, I forgot the teacakes for later on so went back in to get them and found a small pile of supermarket-floor-kill on the way out again, so an unexpected (but most welcome) £2.63 potted today
Hope you are all keeping warm, no snow down here in Devon but nevertheless it is very bum-freezingly cold out! Made the kids walk from a bit out of town to the Kids AM cinema showing(flipping council have hiked all the car park charges way up high and I refuse to pay!) and we'd all lost feeling in our ears by the time we'd walked back to where I'd parked! Bracing...
Enjoy the rest of your weekend; only a four-day week for the next two, so that's something to be looking forward to! :rotfl:SPC No. 104 (oh no I've lost my magic 2000!)
SPC 2013: £378.23 (paid for Christmas, yippee!)
Target for SPC 2014: £500

Wonderful work, new leaf, that IS saving!Well, I did it, I counted my pots (owls head and VW campervan) and I have a grand total of....... trumpet fanfare please........ £459 yay off to the bank on monday....
Wooooo-hay, that's brilliant, mishmogs! :T Very well done and thanks for popping it on your siggy.
Good to see you, cutestkids, late or not, good to hear the pot's getting heavy!
All best wishes to your GS, LC 2, we definitely need more down to earth folk at the top!! :jMybe im just getting a bit miserable in my old age but I didnt want anything, DH didnt want anything so we just sort of didnt botherI really am quite happy with a 'Happy anniversary' and a cuddle
Don't worry, jakes-mum, you're not the only ones. DH & I hardly ever get each other a card - bit of a con really - and unless we need/want something then we don't buy each other gifts for the sake of it. What we do is put some money aside for our holiday in June (or whenever it is), far more beneficial that way than wasting precious money! Whether it's simply telling each other you love each other or getting more amorous.....well, you know :kisses2: all year round counts far more than lavish gifts any day. I think the world of my DH & I know he does of me, that counts hugely!Be happy and Happy Anniversary for tomorrow!
Well done on the FB sales!Lindylou68 wrote:I shall be keeping a very close eye on him to make sure he is coping with the changes (he's very big on routine and does get distressed if things change too radically in his world!) Might sound like I'm blowing my (and other mums') trumpets, but I think we do marvellously by our lovely kids, and they are all lucky to have us!! :T Keep up the sterling work, ladies xx
And we are so lucky to have this group; lots of heartwarming and also uplifting stories come to the fore which help a lot of us feel a whole lot less alone with our difficulties and frustrations. Thanks, one and all. :A
Your DS won't come to much harm with you keeping a watchful Motherly eye on him, Lindylou, you have all the important things sussed, that's what counts. Those who may 'tag' our treasures aren't the ones who know all their wonderful ways and yes, their shortcomings too, and ~ as Mums we know them best!
Ah, now that's better, Helen! Now that is definitely worthy of a gold star. :staradminlittle_sweetie wrote:Well my GC built a snow woman yesterday and when I asked how they knew it was a woman my little GS piped up 'because Dad let me put boobs on':eek: How ruuude! Whatever next!
Oh my word, little_sweetie, look out if there's any snow in the play ground at school, your DGS will be stunning them all with his biology and - just think about what the "Whatever next" could be!!! :rotfl:
No matter what it is, Observer, just think how it'll mount up by November! Lovely to see you. :grinheart
Well done in knowing that PDLs aren't the way to go, Emily, well done on your savings.
I bet you're really getting excited now, ETO, I loved getting baby clothes!!!! :A
£20 potted for me after taking shopping to an elderly neighbour and potting the cash owed, well why not!No snow down here, folks, rain either today, but...dokeep warm all those in northern areas....stay well all.

Well done Emily on getting rid of those PDL vultures :T :T once your caught its so hard to get out again, you only have to read the DFW boards to see what people go through trying to dig themselves out of that 'short term loan'. Massive congrats to you, it must have took some serious determination on your part :T
Aww ty ModestyB, we celebrated by cleaning the livingroom :rotfl: we know how to partyI did get a nice cup of tea in bed though which you cant beat really
Ty to you too Sue-UUthough 'amorous' stop giving DH ideas  :rotfl: I agree, cards are a total con and we rarely bother for birthdays/mothers day/fathers day so really couldnt see the point for our anniversary. I did half heartedly mention a weekend away as a joint anniversary / birthday present (DH's is in april, mine in may) but with the car dying a veeeeeery slow and painful death we'd much rather save our pennies toward replacing her and as our dream car comes on the market at the end of May we really need to scrape every penny we can together
No pennies today as havent been outside, its too darned cold and that god awful white stuff is back again! (kids are loving it though :rotfl:)SPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £225/£10000 -

Just stopping by to say £5 potted from a scratchcard win.....I don't buy them very often but gave into temptation this week because I was feeling lucky :j. That's the first paper money potted - hopefully the first of many! Found £20 in the washing machine today from DS's shirt....felt it was just too much to pot so I've given it back to him :A

Aye that he is LC2I believe the same of DH, what would they do without us? I always tell him he may be happier without me but he'd die of starvation long before he got to enjoy it ::rotfl: I on the other hand would be a darned sight richer on me own :rotfl::rotfl:
